A woman who lives near me and my family copies everything I do. I changed my car a few weeks ago and I watched as she walked past my house, she looked so annoyed and cross. She went bright red and I thought that she was going to burst.
Yesterday, I had my hair cut into a short Bob. I saw this.....person who was staring at me but as usual she wouldn't speak to me and later in the afternoon she flounced past my house with a newly cut short Bob. She was staring at my window grinning.
I have never spoken to her but she copies the silliest of things like a change in lipstick colour.
Do you think I should worry? Or is it just that I am such a trend setter?

Why do you think she hates you?

Uriel · 04/06/2008 13:36

Wind-up.

Northbynortheast · 04/06/2008 13:37

Agree with dirtysexymummy. She blushed as she walked past your house and has a bob??Not quite stalking is it. You seem to be obsessing about her. Why are you are always looking out of your window - perhaps she thinks you stand at your window waiting for her to go by and finds it disconcerting.

totalmisfit · 04/06/2008 13:37

how do you know she hates you if she doesn't say anything to you?

you sound very full of yourself imo. Maybe she's just looking at her own reflection in your window and smiling to herself (which i think is allowed)

CatIsSleepy · 04/06/2008 13:39

agree with donnie-a full on sex change is in order

let's see if she wants to copy that!

think I agree with uriel

savoycabbage · 04/06/2008 13:40

Perhaps she was admiring her new bob!

totalmisfit · 04/06/2008 13:40

and i also have a short bob hairstyle at the moment, it's very common and one of the most popular hairstyles of all time. Does that mean i, and approx 15% of the rest of the population have also copied you?

Goober · 04/06/2008 13:40

Yeah. Thanks everybody.
That was the first thread I ever posted, and the last. I thought it might be interesting to get some other opinions.
Clearly, you all have more time on your hands than I do as you all seem to be experts in trashing me.
I won't be back, I will be living a REAl life, not a make-believe-internet-life.
Lots of luck.

I am trying to think of anyone I know who hasn't got a bob......

savoycabbage · 04/06/2008 13:41
Shock
AggiePanther · 04/06/2008 13:43

Your first and last thread and it's in the wrong place!

Flouncer's Corner

joash · 04/06/2008 13:47

Worry, I had a neighbour like this some years ago and I once went inside her house to discover that she had (attempted) to decorate her entire ground floor the same as ours (she'd been noseying through the windows when we were out).

Luckily we moved far away from her. But I recently had stalker and apart from the wierd stalker behaviour (watching the house, etc) she started to dress her son the same as GS, had her hair cut and coloured so that it was identical to mine, started telling her kids that I was their auntie - but told some other people that I was hermother .

LynetteScavo · 04/06/2008 13:50

Goober - was that a flounce?

DirtySexyMummy · 04/06/2008 13:51

You did get some other opinions. Did you not understand them?

I am fairly sure that none of us live a make-believe-internet-life.. Not really sure what that means to tell the truth, however, I do know that fantasising about the neighbours being obsessed by you is not particularly healthy in itself, and perhaps you should consider getting some help?

Maybe you just need to get out more, you seem to spend an awful lot of time in the house, all your posts have suggested you are indoors a lot, other than when you walk the dog. Perhaps you should try to get out a little more? If you do, you might also notice that quite a lot of people have bobs. I don't think you invented the style.

Oh, and lots of luck

lou031205 · 04/06/2008 13:56

Goober, chill out. Be grateful you haven't posted and got no replies. I have had a set of neighbours where one used to copy the other. TBH, it is soon obvious who is copying who.

Isn't the phrase "imitation is the sincerest form of flattery"?

TheFallenMadonna · 04/06/2008 13:59

Ah. You need to remember this when on MN: it's not "interesting" to get other people's opinions. It just irritating.

Don't flounce.

Go tell someone else they're being unreasonable.

ComeOVeneer · 04/06/2008 14:00

I think you would have had a more "gentle" response, had you not blown your own trumpet about being more attractive/having a nicer car etc. Nobody likes a bragger.

Northbynortheast · 04/06/2008 14:04

Goober, as you've f'ed off you won't be reading this so I am writing for just the make believe mums. Goober got a reality check, isn't that what aibu is for?

mumoftwo37 · 04/06/2008 14:05

Goober I totally know where you are coming from. Our ex neighbour bought the same nightdress and knickers as me last summer within days of me hanging them out on the line! Thank god they moved out quite soon afterwards and our new neighbours are lovely.

cadelaide · 04/06/2008 14:07

So no-one else thinks it was all in her imagination then?

DirtySexyMummy · 04/06/2008 14:07

Ha, exactly.

OP - Am I being unreasonable?

MN - Yes

OP - Fine. I hate you all anyway and I have better things to do.

Makes a change from the usual;

OP - Am I being unreasonable?

MN - Yes

OP - No I am not you are all stupid and wrong

Ah, a refreshing change.

cadelaide · 04/06/2008 14:08

I feel as though I've dropped into some sort of surreal suburban-horror parallel universe.

Rowlers · 04/06/2008 14:09

oh trip trap bollox
and if it's not trolling, get a life ffs
I hate this sort of utter nonsense
