Migrants get up to £2000 on bankcard after prison sentences

Ihatetomatoes · 24/09/2025 22:14

Just watched 47 migrants being deported, costing hundreds of thousands, private flights, huge number of security guards, the migrants then get given cash cards! Back to Romania after committing crimes here including murder, sexual offences, pedophiles with money to help them resettle in their own country.

ITV news - our own go hungry and cold.

We are total mugs here in the UK.

On a separate story migrants having taxis to appointments, free NHS. I mean we have to get to our own way.

Mugs. No wonder many people are unhappy. These are convicted criminals, being pandered to.

Genuinely - how do the far left on here plan to pay for the tens of millions? Where do they want to house them? Are they happy to go without hospital treatment? Doctors appointments? To have to scrap all benefits because we simply can not afford them?

Can they not see what is happening on the bond markets? Or realise what an IMF bail out looks like? These people are either supremely uneducated about the financial status of our country or they are high on drugs and weed and can not evaluate what is right in front of them.

There is no basis whatsoever for continuing as we are. Until when? The country collapses under its own weight? And we become bankrupt? What is the end goal here to keep championing illegal economic migrants - it’s appallingly misguided.

No one has said they’re far left Hmm

Immigration has been at its highest under the Tories.

The backlog of asylum cases has been at its highest under the Tories.

So why present this as a far left issue?

I do think immigration laws need to be tightened.

And I’d like to see how Shabana Mahmood’s new policy on returning migrants works.

But the asylum seekers who do make it here have to be treated with basic human dignity. You can’t sign up to the European Court of Human Rights and then decide those rights only apply to white Brits or certain black and brown people. That’s hypocrisy.

And you can’t blame people looking for a better quality of life. People have been migrating since time immemorial. All of our ancestors left Africa 1.75m years ago to escape climate change.

We did remove the government that allowed this to happen.

Haha! Well I am sorry to inform you this one is even worse!!

Looks like there is just about to be a leadership challenge. It’s a total shit show. Thank you for voting for this chaos, and encouraging others to do so. You are going to be the first to squeak when the benefits are cut to nothing.

Why do you assume anyone who disagrees with you is on benefits?

Maybe you should post your salary and then people can tell you if they out-earn you and are therefore entitled to an opinion.

It doesn’t work when kicking people out of prison with no money, so how would this work?

They’d not have money to try to come back and would need to be dealt with by their own country.

I’m an EU immigrant here, it’s crazy that the borders were open to all and sundry for years without any background checks for years.

That doesn’t make it alright but they aren’t talking about just white bread, the meals are poor quality and unhealthy, chips and chicken nuggets at every meal for children. That is poor nutrition.

And yet wasn't there a case where an Albanian's deportation case was delayed because his six year old son would only eat British chicken nuggets.

The ferrying of migrants to GP appointments by taxis was on ITV news last night. Seems like all the mainstream channels are picking up on this now.

Starmer needs to sort this out. We don't hear anything from the Lib Dems who could have taken advantage of the Tories unpopularity.

If Labour, Tories and Lib Dems don't get their act together we will have a Reform Gov. in 4 years time.

The anger IS at the government for their complete ineptitude. Have you somehow missed that?

Which government do you imagine is responsible for Brexit, our economic difficulties, and much of the current immigration problem? Clue: it's not the one that's only been in power just over a year.

Ihatetomatoes · 25/09/2025 08:37

EsmaCannonball · 25/09/2025 07:59

That is clearly not what the poster said. This story is specifically about convicted criminals being given money by the government. Where does the poster say 'all Romanians are criminals'?

I didn't, however, people don't read what I said.

I never said all Romanians or all migrants, I saud the convicted criminals. Too many people don't read the actual comment and jump in.

So fucking what! It is a free meal, in a free room and they are fortunate to be offered anything at all.

Most of the world would offer them a place on the back streets. Your wet naivety is extraordinary. Would you prefer avocado on sourdough, or a menu designed by a specialist dietician just to ensure they are content?! You have no idea about the real world…. Totally checked out of reality.

Oh for god sake sober up! We didn’t have a benefits and asylum system 1.75 million years ago that other people forced to pay for without consent. You are talking from the woke bible without looking at the REALITY. What about the dignity of the elderly dying in hospital corridors because we are overrun? Or only those that arrive illegally are entitled to ‘dignity’ ?

You haven’t said how you intend to pay for your open borders? You know that mere detail of billions of pounds being required to be paid for somehow.

Not sure why us spending tax payers' money on criminals is "yawn". It's shocking when you consider the state of health, education and everything else in this country.

My politics are in the centre - and I would like to see the left and right collaborate rather than fight, but comments like "Hi Nige" and "Yawn" actually make me feel more inclined to vote Reform next time.

We don’t have open borders and never have had open borders. You missed my point, that human migration is normal. It’s in our DNA.

We don’t have open borders. Open borders mean moving freely between countries without border checks, visas, or other restrictions.

The UK has strict border controls.

  • Visas: Citizens of many countries must apply for a visa to enter the UK for work, study, or long stays.
  • Passport Checks: Everyone entering the UK is subject to passport checks and immigration control.
  • Work & Study Requirements: Foreign nationals generally need sponsorship or a permit to work or study.
  • No longer in the EU: Since Brexit, freedom of movement between the UK and EU countries has ended. EU citizens now face similar restrictions as non-EU citizens.
MaturingCheeseball · 25/09/2025 08:45

Also, those convicted of sexual crimes are keen to return to some of their places of origin because - guess what? - groping women or worse is not a crime there! So seven/eight year prison sentence here versus back home with £2k and the chance to boomerang back again… result!

Plus - on the “white bread” subject, inmates at the Britannia Hotel in London were having the same fare as regular guests had been served - but for free! The suppliers had been retained. Those housed were eating steaks etc etc - 😡

So how come we have an absorbed 11.1 million extra people since 2000. It is a colossal amount. That is the actual statistic. How many deportations are taking place each week? We are seeing thousands arrive daily, so how are we policing our borders exactly? It’s non existent.

Migrant this, migrant that ! Face the government: they have crippled the economy with appalling policies , Brexit, lockdown, Billions wasted, Non dom tax , the list is endless! Get some education and stop being mugs!

I think the opinion polls clearly show people are angry at the government and not just for the immigration issue.

persephonia · 25/09/2025 08:50

PansyPotter84 · 25/09/2025 08:11

Er… this isn’t scare-mongering.

The BBC did a radio documentary earlier this week about life in migrant hotels.

Migrants were cooking in the bathrooms because they didn’t like the quality of the free meals provided at the hotel, not because they were required to.

People living and working at the hotels were interviewed, including some of the children.

It was telling that many people had been sold a lie by people smugglers- they had been told that when they got to the UK they would be entitled to everything free- a home, benefits, childcare, healthcare. No wonder they were willing to pay large sums of money.

A man with a family who had fled Iraq said that many many people living at the hotel were not fleeing persecution but were there for a better life.

One woman was there because she had Cancer and came because she knew the NHS would treat her.

People there had babies on purpose,
conceived in the UK, because they knew it would be hard to deport them and they would go to the front of the queue for housing, benefits etc.

The taxis were mentioned too. A security guard said that taxis were provided and that there was no reason most of the residents could not use public transport but they felt they were entitled so would insist “taxi!
taxi! taxi!”.

The security guard also mentioned how people felt that they were entitled to have their rooms cleaned for them
rather than cleaning up after themselves.

It was the children I felt sorry for.

This isn’t scaremongering. This wasn’t right-wing journalism with an agenda-
this was the BBC.

Unfortunately, we have reached a stage where to raise legitimate concerns is met with accusations of racism and support for Reform UK.

My concern is this- if the country can afford to put up new arrivals in hotels with good,
taxis, healthcare etc, then why do I, in my job (public sector) deal with British citizens, some of whom have served in the armed forces, who are literally street homeless and told that their local authorities don’t have housing for them.

My position is NOT that asylum seekers shouldn’t have all the lovely things and entitlements that they are given, but that homeless British citizens should have them AS WELL.

That is my question.

If we can afford these things for migrants, surely we can afford these things for homeless British citizens?

If not, why not?

There's clearly a lot of waste in the system. Basically it sounds like the systems they have set up only allow movement by taxi. I wonder if part of that is a wish to "segregate" them a bit so that they don't have complaints about the buses near the hotels being crammed with migrants etc. It's madness and it would be better just to provide other travel. But then there would be complaints about "migrants getting free bus passes"

Your last comment "If we can afford these things for migrants, surely we can afford these things for homeless British citizens". Homeless British citizens DO get housed in hostels. They aren't nice places. In some cases homeless British families get housed in hotel rooms too. Its not a good thing- its a miserable stressful way to live. That's what Jacqueline Wilson's "the bed and breakfast star" was about.

We are idiots. But at least we are ‘nice’ idiots yeah?
