Hello

As per the title - my boobs are big and I’m looking for bra recommendations to give them a lift whilst feeling comfortable

currently I wear m&s but they still look quite droopy and I hate seeing myself on Teams as they look huge and saggy

Any suggestions greatly appreciated ☺️

I'm a stonking 35JJ and have been uncomfortable in bras for most of my life.

I can't wear underwired bras as I have an odd skin condition which makes my skin very prone to sores, and yep, underwires give me sores.

I spent years wearing Triumph Doreen, which was mostly ok but it has bits of boning in the side seams which yes, gave me sores. So I would have to unpick the stitching there and remove the boning, and then add padding to the sides so that the tightness of the band didn't give me more sores.

A year ago I was in Nottingham and walked past the Bravissimo branch there. I walked in assuming they'd just try to make me wear an underwired bra, like all the other specialist fitters I'd been to had tried. Instead they listened to me, spent over an hour bringing me bras to try on, and told me why each bra did or didn't work.

I ended up with a Freya Dynamic soft cup sports bra. No underwires at all. They told me that despite all previous bra fitters telling me I was a 38D I was actually a 36 JJ, and showed me how that size actually fitted me.

I've worn that same model and size bra ever since and am suddenly, miraculously comfortable at long last. I no longer feel the need to remove my bra at the earliest opportunity. I don't do all that shrug-and-wriggle thing any more. I am going to go back to Bravissimo next month to get another fitting and make sure that I'm still in the right size and shape. I cannot recommend them highly enough.

This is a lovely story. As a DD at 14 and then anything up to a JJ (now HH), God bless Bravissimo honestly.

Another vote for Bravissimo, if there is one near you

rainbowsparkle28 · 16/09/2025 22:18

Go to Bravissimo.

another vote for https://www.rigbyandpeller.com/en-gb/stores

really, save up for a day trip to London. You won’t regret it.

@LouisaJG and for Primadonna

I had really bad experiences at R&P. I went decades ago, in my twenties. They had nothing at all that fitted me, not their fault at the time as small back bras weren’t made. I had 24/25” ribs. However the lady fitting me was rude and pushed me into buying a 32 bra that was far too big.
I gave them another try when I was pregnant in my forties. Yet again no bras to fit me. I needed wireless bras and eventually they found one, only one, in a horrible beige. Again I felt rushed and not taken care of, as soon as it was obvious it would be tricky to fit me they just seemed annoyed.

loveyouradvice · 16/09/2025 22:31

Totally go to Bravissimo - I used to spend a fortune at Rigby & Peller and even got a bra that was very uncomfortable and probably too small there once. I switched to Bravissimo 10-15 years ago and have never looked back. I have had many of the bras mentioned above - love Freya - and it's always such a joyful experience going into their stores. They celebrate big breasts in every way and their assistants are just so lovely.

NotMeNoNo · 16/09/2025 22:35

They are expensive in these sizes, when I get fitted for a bra I search around for the same style on sale so I tend to have 3 or 4 in the same style.

This is lovely. I agree, I don’t identify with that thing of ‘I can’t wait to get my bra off’. If it’s a good properly-fitting bra, I don’t think you’ll feel that way (well that and, for me, my 34H norks are so big that I’m more uncomfortable with a bra off than one on).

Go into your local lingerie/bra shop and ask for advice. That's what they are there for?

This is not helpful. M&S is my local shop 😵‍💫

I agree that Bravissimo know what they are talking about. It’s well worth a visit to a branch, even if it’s a way away. Make an appt first though!

mamagogo1 · 17/09/2025 07:49

Unless you live in London or n Yorkshire there are no Rigby and Peller, I wish people would stop suggesting unless they know where you are, we haven’t even got a bravisimo now. Independent is the way to go!

WetHair · 17/09/2025 07:54

Bravissimo are also great on the phone and I think they even do online fittings now, if you’re not near a shop. I recently had to call them about an order and they were really helpful.

The trouble with Bravissimo is that, although their bras look great on, it’s achieved by wearing a bra very tight on the band. That can become uncomfortable eventually.

Mumof1andacat · 17/09/2025 09:19

If anyone is near Hampshire there is a lovely lingerie shop in Botley that does bra fittings. Hidden agenda

Not my experience. Women often choose too big a back size, which then rides up and is uncomfortable. So a Bravissimo or similar size can feel tight initially. I’ve been sized by them into a back size that feels too tight so I say so and went up a back size and they accepted that. As others have said, if you’re in the right bra size it should be comfortable. It’s a lot more comfortable as well as looking a lot better for me when I’m in the right size than it is to wear either a looser bra or even no bra at all.

Molecule · 17/09/2025 09:41

LouisaJG · 16/09/2025 17:40

Go and get yourself properly fitted at Rigby and Peller. Expensive but so worth it. If you’re looking saggy you may be wearing the wrong size. A lot of women wear a back size that is too large and then you’re not getting proper support.

Personally I like the PrimaDonna Deauville full cup bra that they sell, but your best bet is to get a fitting and get their recommendations for your specific body.

If Rigby and Peller really breaks the bank then go get a fitting at Bravissimo.

I second Prima Donna Deauville. Very comfy with plenty of scaffolding. Not cheap but definitely worth it (especially when you think of all those bras you've bought that aren't quite right).

Timeforabitofpeace · 17/09/2025 09:51

@WetHair Ive only ever had bras from Bravissimo that were fitted by them. I’d never buy a bra any other way.

MimiGC · 17/09/2025 10:02

Can anyone recommend big bras which are not wired AND also (very importantly for me) seamless? Thanks.

Thundertoast · 17/09/2025 10:03
  • Stay away from M&S
  • go and get measured at Bravissimo - if you want to measure yourself then there's a calculator here here
  • learn about sister sizes, if you prefer a looser bra band than what you get fitted with. What i will say is that often when people get into their proper size it feels tight at first, but you do get used to it and your shoulders will stop hurting! However some people prefer a looser band or need one, so Google bra sister sizes and look for the band size up to what you get measured to. I wouldn't go further than one size up though. There is a little variation in the bigger bust brands so it might take some trial and error.
  • learn your shape and what bras will help MASSIVELY Great guide from Curvy Kate here and their bras are great. I need side support in bras, so dont really try any ones without it.
  • learn some brands - by goggling 'bigger bust brands' you will get loads, on the cheap end Pour Moi are good if you want to try different styles without breaking the bank.

I buy bras from Bra stop. They seek to send me endless emails detailing their sales, which are very good. Once I figured out my size (36H) I could filter the stock on their website by that.

Currently wearing Fantasie but now following this post to see other styles/brands as i need to replace.

Anyone else find the underwires poke out quickly these days?

I’m a 34HH and really like the Elomie Morgan bra. Very supportive but also comfortable.

I’m there or there about & I love Doreen Triumph. I know people will disagree but it’s always worked for me.

M&s have a seamless non wired one which is brilliant. Flexifit™ Non-Wired Full Cup Bra F-H. I'm more like a HH but it fits me fine.

PotatoBreadForTheWin · 28/09/2025 06:28

This thread inspired me to go and get a proper fitting for the first time in years. Went to bravissimo based on the recommendations here and it was bloody fabulous. Have been wearing entirely the wrong size bra (went from 44DD to 38GG 😳) and I feel like a new woman in a properly sized one.

i came away with an elomi moulded smoothing bra (this one in my sister size of 40FF) and a bravissimo Lacey bra

I’ve been wearing this bra for years. I’m worried it’s being discontinued…
