To fear new left party is being dominated by trans agenda

I am a Jeremy Corbyn supporter, ex Labour member. I was initially excited at the formation of 'Your Party'. However, after following some initial meetings I am very concerned that the leadership are centring trans 'inclusion' above all else. Zara Sultana stated that there is no place for 'socially conservative' people in the new party!! I think she is deluded if she thinks the left can win without ordinary people who will simply not go along with trans ideology.

If it's corbins party
Why did he invite someone he doesn't agree with their policies to be a main person

Because he thinks she can deliver lots of Muslim voters. He’s probably right, but she is by all accounts a complete nightmare to work with.

Lots of discussion of this on the dedicated FWR thread https://www.mumsnet.com/talk/womens_rights/5394557-your-corbynsultana-party-discussion-thread?utm_campaign=thread&utm_medium=app_share

I think many ordinary people don't really care that much one way or the other about trans issues. It's a relative minority who hold vocal views, either pro- or anti-.

This.

I get the arguments and lean towards being GC, but truthfully I literally can't remember the last time I saw a trans person in the real world, yet alone encountered one in the changing rooms.

What about other religions..does he not want their vote to .
Why does he specifically want Muslim votes ...are all religions votes not just as valid

Would he not of been better having someone on the same page as him

Bulldogautumn · 19/09/2025 06:07

Did they get so far as writing any policies
Be interesting to read what he comes up with

If you have tween/teen children, particularly if they're autistic, trans ideology is an ever present spectre, with threats of physical harm to your children.

Not having an opinion is very much a luxury for those with (literally) no skin in the game. Never has a phrase been more apt.

This is absolute spades!!! I’m the mother to a 15 year old ASD girl. She’s a tomboy, always has been. She’s more than likely going to end up coming out as a lesbian. I’m cool with that. But she’s incredibly susceptible to others ideas and if someone told her she’s trans she’d believe it. And want to change her body. And more that likely regret it. And blame me. The prospect is utterly terrifying.

Any party that centres ‘trans rights’ is a straight no from me. I have usually voted Lib Dem so have to find pastures new but that’s life.

I’d never vote for this party anyway - their economic policies are laughably naive.

SmugglersHaunt · 19/09/2025 06:17

I think this party has all but imploded now anyway. The far left love an internal scrap almost more than anything else

most ‘ordinary people’ i know do think that trans rights are important, so i don’t foresee it as an issue for them that trans rights are in the forefront of their policies

What about women's sex-based rights? Do they not see that is important? What about the rights of the female sex?

You’re wrong. The silent majority are GC. The people you are describing are not ‘ordinary people’ they are largely deluded or misogynist.

Corbyn is a decent old cove. But the things that made him a crap leader of the Labour party haven't changed. As James Carville said all those years ago - ' It's the Economy, stupid'.

Don't get sucked into culture wars , they only benefit the Right.

The so-called 'culture war' of feminism used to benefit the left.... at one time. Feminism and the rights of the female sex class was always the provenance of the left. Until they abandoned it. And allowed the right to opportunistically pick it up. There is a lesson for the left there. Don't abandon your feminist history and feminist base. But will they ever listen?

dottiehens · 19/09/2025 07:29

Uff how repulsive those two are. I hope no one gives them any time. For sure they will be active with the 16 years old in state schools that can vote in the next elections.

I think a lot of people don't care much at the moment. But they will if / when they or female relatives are expected to share changing rooms with bio males masquerading as women

I watched this last night - it made me weep in anger. Jonni was diagnosed autistic aged 4.
This is what parents are up against.

No. Only Islam is somehow attractive to the left. Maybe their attitude to women is shared. But they are as much idiots as Labour are in trying to cultivate the Muslim vote - Muslims will only vote for them until they have enough votes to vote in a Muslim party - then they will be dropped like a ton of hot bricks.

Keep being scared of the things you're told to be scared of. Your fear keeps the right-wing grifters rich.

Common cause. Lefties care mainly about Gaza, largely because they hate America & Israel. And Muslims care mainly about Gaza because it’s their people who somewhat unwisely started a war against Israel and are now on the receiving end of the IDF. Therefore the new left wing party can secure a significant voter base by making Gaza their main campaigning issue.

Bulldogautumn · 19/09/2025 12:36

People do care about Gaza..but I don't understand why it's a main component of UK politics ..what do they think we can do
