Blimey, that model looks a very slim s16. She may be, it is just curiosity on my part.

No chance is she a size 16!

Titasaducksarse · 13/09/2025 16:31

Are they saying this is an example of the dress which is a 16 but the picture is just from the standard advert?

AngularMerkin · 13/09/2025 16:31

Obviously not, the seller has used the stock photo used to market the dress, not a picture of themselves in the exact size 16 dress.

LaurieFairyCake · 13/09/2025 16:32

The picture is from the advert, the seller is selling a 16.

they woman’s a size 6.

CasualDayHasGoneTooFar · 13/09/2025 16:32

She might be 12 ft tall?

AmpleLilacQuail · 13/09/2025 16:33

No that’s not the size 16 dress that’s being sold, that’s a model.

londongirl12 · 13/09/2025 16:34

Red flag if people don’t show the actual garment and use a stock photo.

Melancholyflower · 13/09/2025 16:34

Obviously that isn't the actual dress, or the seller, in the photo and the seller has just used a photo from the original website that sold it.

mauvishagain · 13/09/2025 16:34

Look at the wooden slats around the model's left hip. The pic has been manipulated. So the dress and model may actually be a size 16 IRL but altered to look a lot thinner!

Entree · 13/09/2025 16:35

The picture is of the dress on a model. The dress size being sold is 16.

Or do you know of clothes websites where they photograph every size available on different sized models?!

SchnizelVonKrumm · 13/09/2025 16:35

It's obviously a stock photo, clearly not a size 16.

(What's the other tab - "why do old people love to eat..."? 🤔🤣)

Tigerthatcameforbrunch · 13/09/2025 16:35

They're selling the size 16 version of that dress. That is the standard catalogue image. You aren't going to magically look like that when you put it on.

MyZippyPlayer · 13/09/2025 16:36

@TheQuirkyMaker the photo is from the Temu advert selling it for £8.53.

It probably looks really crap on someone in a size 16 which is why the seller used the generic photograph and probably why they're also selling it on.

I now want to know this too 😆

The photo has probably been stolen from another retailer and altered. You can tell when they've done this as it's why they've cut the model's head off

Well spotted! The wood slats curve around her body.

The lady, if not photoshopped, is definitely NOT a British size 16.

pizzaHeart · 13/09/2025 16:53

I can’t comment if photo is altered or not. However if I was selling a dress I would rather put a generic photo than mine in that dress as I would have no idea how to make my photo impersonal.

No but it's a market place post. They've just linked to the website that sold the dress in question and are saying the one they have is a size 16 surely?

KimberleyMilkado · 13/09/2025 17:31

Did you think this was a photograph of the seller wearing the dress? Perhaps on holiday. Have you ever bought clothes online?

Pollyanna87 · 13/09/2025 17:38

I don’t think the photograph features a real woman, looks like some kind of AI for a cheap website.

TheOtherAgentJohnson · 13/09/2025 17:40

It’s not even a real woman, it’s AI. These uncanny valley AI people are all over Pinterest and YouTube ads now. Creepy.

BellissimoGecko · 13/09/2025 17:43

The dress that is being sold might be, but that dress is not, and nor is that model.

UnhappyHobbit · 13/09/2025 17:46

I’m 6ft and a size 16. I don’t look like that (unfortunately)
