Mumsnet censorship

1000 replies

anonymouselephantx · 11/09/2025 11:38

Mumsnet has been deleting any comment at all that criticises Charlie Kirk... just because he has died does not mean he is infallible. He is still an evil person who did and said evil things, contributed to so much suffering of families at the hands of ICE etc., mocked the Palestinians undergoing a genocide? Mumsnet, disturbing much? I had to get MN by email to delete a thread of mine as I was getting bullied and people were making personal attacks against me (the talk guidelines say personal attacks will be deleted, yet I had to BEG for this), but they are censoring anything anyone says about Charlie Kirk? Why are we not allowed to have freedom of speech and freedom to debate, especially when it is someone who did and said SO MUCH EVIL!

I am Irish LMAO.

I think the poster knew that as theyd just replied to you saying about your Irish passport?

AccidentallyWesAnderson · 12/09/2025 17:20

anonymouselephantx · 12/09/2025 17:18

Yes, people have said that.. read the thread. That’s what I’m pushing back against.
I haven’t cheered his death, I haven’t celebrated it. I’ve just said I don’t mourn him. If others can post sympathy, I can post the opposite. That’s all there is to it.

Yes you’ve said you don’t mourn him. Over, and over and over. Why would you want to post the opposite to those showing sympathy to his wife and children. Says more about you to be honest than the people you are getting angry about.

anonymouselephantx · 12/09/2025 17:21

Yelleryeller · 12/09/2025 17:19

I mean your own posting history on the dead is pretty crass which makes you all the more hypocritical here. Maybe get a mirror as well as a hobby if you can't see the hypocrisy, but then you're also still insisting people aren't being censored while you come back again to just...criticise people posting their opinion. Notice you haven't engaged in a single response to your posts about his actual words or actions that you call nice and polite still. What makes a nice misogynist and what makes a nasty one again please? Is it tone, volume etc?

Literally has not responded to a single thing anyone has said to her. She just finds new things to say and comment on (or repeat the same things over and over again).

So don't fucking tell an Irish person they don't belong in Ireland?

And how many times are you going to comment just to tell me I’ve repeated myself? If you already “get it,” then stop circling back to the same point. I’ve explained my stance, you don’t have to like it, but at this stage, you’re the one keeping it going.

I didn’t say I agreed with him. I gave context to what was being said. I would want anyone, regardless of age, sex, race, whatever, to be qualified to do the job they were doing down to merit, not just to ensure some DEI box is ticked.

Again, every job has required qualifications.NOTHING about DEI initiatives invalidates that so why are you suspicious that DEI hired won't be adequate qualified? You're forgetting that a lot of DEI initiatives actually hide identifying data of a persons race or sex and this leads to a more diverse staff base because they aren't being discriminated out of a chance at a job by lazy stereotypes (such as black people not being as skilled..) that you and Charlie Kirk are repeating. It's less of a hire a black person to tick a box thing than let's stop hiring managers being able to see who's black and white and choosing white people because of their implicit biases.

I have said repeatedly we dont have to agree with what he says that is fine but to stick the boot in when he's jhst been murdered is a bit shit.

Try to channel Kirk a bit and debate politely.

Yes, I’ve repeated myself because you keep recycling the same tired lines: “he just died, he had a family, be kinder…” on loop. If you actually read what I wrote the first time, I wouldn’t have to spell it out again. So maybe take your own advice: move on, find a new thread to cling to, and stop acting like you’re owed endless explanations.

Why are his own words and actions sticking the boot in though? It's common when someone dies for people to talk of their legacy and he chose what to make as his. If you find it problematic, that's an issue with his actions.

As you keep repeating yourself though, why don't you tell us when the moratorium is up on speaking about what he made his entire public persona please? Is there a set date when people are allowed to or do we have to forever shut up about it? I think people have shared their views quite nicely and politely in a debating forum, everything you loved about the guy.

He is accepting of gay people into his movement, I.e. be conservative and vote right wing as long as you're happy with the fact we're gonna try and strip you of the rights you've fought for and won. If you listened to his full exchange with a gay conservative, he says his sexuality isn't as important as the other things they have in common politically - what do you think that means? We all know what that means.

Charlie Kirk wanted gay people stripped of their right to marry and parrots the same age old homophobic tripe of gay people corrupting people's children aka gay panic in 2025. You're either being deliberately obtuse or you're not bothering to do even a full search before posting this stuff.

I'm learning as I go along - I had no idea who he was until he was killed. Can you post a link to where he has said what you say he said? Everything I am seeing so far is clips of a very conservative christian, polite, guy, having respectful conversations alongside posts from other people saying how horrible he was but with no actual evidence.....

I'm old enough (in my 70's) to have lived through the fight for gay marriage, and was very much part of the push for it. I do understand the conservative christian position against it though because I have family who are conservative christians. They believe marriage is a sacrament, instituted by God, for the procreation of children. In the UK the initial compromise was civil partnerships, giving all the legal rights but without the marriage title. My relatives were actually OK with that - they thought it was good that gay people had legal protections in their partnerships, but there is something SACRED about the whole notion of marriage for them. My guess is that CK was exactly the same 🤷🏼‍♀️.

The USA is full of conservative christians (they make my relatives look like trendy lefties) and if I were in the US I would be opposing any push to make their values and beliefs law - but that doesn't make them bigoted or hateful people - I think they are very wrong, they think they are very right - CK's mission to enter into respectful dialogue was an attempt to get both sides to listen to each other. Everything I have seen so far convinces me he was doing a good thing.

I’ve already posted direct quotes from him earlier in the thread- feel free to scroll back. It wasn’t just “respectful dialogue,” it was years of race-baiting, Islamophobia, and minimising violence dressed up in a polite tone.

You can Google him discussing this point. Kindly, you're taking it upon yourself to post information on him I'm sure you're able to find the full context.

A marriage ceremony is only a sacrament to those who believe it is and still only when it's performed in a church by a priest etc. Marriage as a word or a concept isn't owned by Christianity and it's ideals. Christians are welcome to their definition of a Christian marriage under the church, they don't get to pick and choose who gets access to secular marriage rights although they did for long enough. Charlie wasn't against gay people accessing the Christian sacrament of marriage, he was against them having their legal secular marriage rights.
