Is this too unpleasant to do even in the circumstances?!

We have to catch a flight this evening and our bedding is not in a good state after a night and day of sickness bug. I have no time to now wash it. Is it too awful to leave it on and wash when we return? It’s cheap bedding and I’m now wondering if we throw it out rather than leave it?!

As if anyone would leave sick on their bedsheets and then fuck off on holiday. The weather looks warm this weekend, can you imagine the stench when you walk back in the house to warm sick that’s been left to fester for days? Your house will absolutely stink on your return.

C’mon! No one is this rank or dim.

niadainud · 05/09/2025 17:58

Why have you left it until 3pm to do anything about it? And if that answer is that you've been too ill, then, as many PPs have said, you probably shouldn't be getting on a plane.

XiCi · 05/09/2025 18:00

Do you actually mean that the bedding has shit or vomit on it or were you just laying in it feeling ill? If the former, then yes it would be binned, cheap or not. The latter I'd be ok dealing with it when I got back.
Really hope you haven't got anything contagious or you could take the whole plane out, that woud be a pretty nasty holiday surprise

All these holier than thou replies are hilarious. I think most people would be on that flight even if there was a chance of shitting yourself mid journey.

I disagree. Most people have a conscience.

This

Lol - no there is no ‘This’.

This is so obviously a goady troll post. Who a couple of hours before they need to leave for a flight would ever be making time to message MN about the oh so urgent advice on washing soiled bedding?!

GonnaeNoDaeThatJustGonnaeNo · 05/09/2025 18:08

Throw it in the bin.

SushiForMe · 05/09/2025 18:09

Just put it in the machine, even if you start the wash after you return back home?

DonnaBanana · 05/09/2025 18:12

Depends what you mean by not in a good state. Never have I ever thrown up or got poo on my bedding no matter how violently ill I was and nor should any adult of sound mind for that matter. If it’s just a bit sweaty and “ick” it’s hardly going to mutate into a giant ball of bacteria in a week so just wash it when you get back!

Really? I don’t. Not to mention the fact that the crew would likely refuse to board a visibly unwell passenger to avoid having to put the plane down before reaching its destination.

Fluffywabbits · 05/09/2025 18:27

Aye right. No way this is a genuine post.

SummerFrog25 · 05/09/2025 18:30

I wonder if the hooves ruin the sheets!

Behave. If you could hold yourself together to get on the flight and didn’t look unwell you’d be there with bells on and you can’t convince me otherwise. As if anyone has considerations for other passengers, I refuse to believe it 😂

No, you “behave”. I couldn’t care less if I can’t convince you otherwise. The lack of consideration for others is a real problem in society and I try my best not to contribute to that. It’s a real shame that you don’t believe it exists at all.

Some disabled people are of perfectly sound mind, but their physical disability means that they have indeed got vomit and poo on their sheets. It’s a bit disingenuous to suggest that you’d have to have a MH condition to do this.

GleisZwei · 05/09/2025 19:06

Please don't get on a plane if you've had a bug.
Reschedule, and wash your sheets.

PistachioTiramisu · 05/09/2025 19:28

Are people really being sick in their beds? I cannot imagine anything more disgusting. You MAKE yourself get to the bathroom if you are going to be sick - NO excuse.

namechangedforvalidreasons · 05/09/2025 19:33

Chuck it

There’s the journey to the airport, with no access to a toilet though.

I really don’t think many people would run the risk of shitting themselves in public (ie if they had a proper sickness bug). I definitely wouldn’t. Me literally walking around covered in shit for several hours until I arrive at my destination is not worth the cost of rebooking the flight.

MarioLink · 05/09/2025 19:42

Yuk and do not get on the plane. How utterly selfish.

Ginburee · 05/09/2025 19:50

I am judging you more for getting on a plane with a sickness bug.
How utterly selfish of you.

Childanddogmama · 05/09/2025 19:53

Thingyfanding · 05/09/2025 19:55

Rosscameasdoody · 05/09/2025 17:52

Wrong. Sorry. Norovirus can be spread through the air, particularly when someone vomits - small particles can become airborne and be inhaled by others. It can also be spread by coughing and sneezing. Virus laden droplets in the air after a vomiting episode allows for airborne transmission. Direct contact with someone who has norovirus and touching surfaces or contaminated things then touching your mouth, or food and water which has been handled or otherwise contaminated can also spread it.

Ok you better contact the NHS to inform them as you clearly know better.
