It's not that hot. Looks sloppy

I would make mine keep tops on for safety (and ease of sliding), but I wouldn't care if others have allowed it.
It's similar to making my children keep their shoes on in public sandpits. Never know what's in there, but others allow it and it makes no difference to me.
