I I’m heartbroken and surprisingly at peace. She knows how much I love and value her and I know how much she loves me .
I feel such pride to be her daughter, she has been my rock all my life .
please hold my hand .

So sorry OP, I’m sure your mum is taking so much comfort from you being there.

I lost my Dad 2 years ago. I was with him when he died. Hand hold for you Op x

It's an awful time, but it is also the greatest privilege. She brought you into the world, it's an act of love to be with her when she leaves. I hope you both have peace tonight. Your love will comfort her.

Another hand hold here from me. FIL passed a few years ago after a 3 week coma in ICU following a sudden and unexpected illness. As difficult as it was, I treasure the time I sat with MIL talking to FIL in his side room, when DH and SIL had both gone home to rest a little, and MIL was recalling so many lovely stories of their past together. I like to think that he could hear everything we talked about, and everything DH and SIL said to him. He passed later that night when I had gone home and DH, MIL and SIL were all together again. Thinking of you during this very difficult time ❤️

I hope she passes quickly and peacefully and you find the strength to bear this x

It’s so, so difficult, yet a privilege at the same time.

Wishing your mother a peaceful transition. Wishing you prace and comfort.

Such a privilege but so so hard too.
Almost 3 years for me now since I held my mums hand as she departed.
It was peaceful and I cherish the time I had to ask all the questions and say all the things I wanted to say. It hasn't been an easy journey since then, but I've no regrets and I'm certain being there eased mum peacefully on her next journey.
Sending love and strength x

She brought you into the world and you're helping her leave it. Your love for your mum shines through your post. Wishing you love and strength, and hoping your beloved mum's passing is peaceful, with her beloved daughter at her side.

Beautifully put. I'm sorry your Mum is dying but you being there for her will mean everything for your Mum.
