Banana Jean Agnes or Banana Agnes Jean

First name is not actually Banana, obviously, but a three syllable name ending in -a with the same stress pattern. If anyone guesses the name correctly I will confirm; I just don’t want to risk the thread devolving into discussion/criticism of it.

So,
YABU: Banana Jean Agnes
YANBU: Banana Agnes Jean

@Motherfluffers If it’s a boy, we’ve decided on ‘Crapbag’.

I’d say to stick with banana!

I don’t like the r sound you will get Banana Ragnes Jean. So to avoid Ragnes, I would go with Banana Jean Agnes ( Banana G Nagness!?)

Costcogroupie · 25/08/2025 16:43

Banana Jean flows better than banana agnes

ScrambledEggs12 · 25/08/2025 16:43

I've heard far worse names than Banana!

MounjaroMounjaro · 25/08/2025 16:44

If it begins with V, then don't use Vanana Agnes Jean.

@Motherfluffers If it’s a boy, we’ve decided on ‘Crapbag’.

Hmm liking the strong double ‘a’ sound, but it’s a tricky cadence comparatively to Banana tho. Which feels pretty unisex. You sure Banana’s not a pick for a boy too?

This thread reads a bit like a fever dream, hope it’s helping OP 😅

greglet · 25/08/2025 16:45

@MounjaroMounjaro 😂😂 Luckily it doesn’t begin with a V!

For a moment there I thought Gwyneth Paltrow was adding to her family.

Amanda?

FattyMcFattyArse · 25/08/2025 16:48

Both Agnes and Jean are not nice names. They don't have any mellifluence - they sound like ugly words when you say them out loud. Agnes especially.

Sorry.

No one has guessed the name yet (although I quite like Piranha 😂). Surname is forrin and begins with a vowel.

You need Jean after the first name as others have said if you live in England so you don't get Bananar Agnes
Also be aware of Bananar Inglese if your last name starts in a vowel. My DM avoided Emma for this exact reason because though I have a middle name that neither starts or ends in a vowel, our last name starts with a vowel.

candycane222 · 25/08/2025 16:51

I love the idea of someone being called Banana Jean!

Not remotely helpful I realise. 😁

greglet · 25/08/2025 16:53

@Motherfluffers Maybe it can joins the ranks of Nikita, Nicola et al as a boys’ name ending in -a?

This thread is definitely brightening up my Bank Holiday Monday!

@FattyMcFattyArse Thanks for your charming comment. They are family names and not up for negotiation.

@drspouse Yes this is my concern. I have an RP accent and wouldn’t rhotacise the liaison between Banana and Agnes (I’d say “Bananah”), but I’m aware lots of people would. Just interested to see what the majority preference is!
