To feel a bit sick when looking at certain celebs?

EllyRoff · 14/08/2025 06:48

I have a weird thing where certain people make me feel physically sick/Uneasy. It’s mainly celebrities or people in the public eye.

One example is Jeremy Corbyn. Nothing to do with his politics - it’s something about him.

My latest one is Danny Dyer - especially with a moustache.

Anyone else get this?

Gary Oldman as Jackson Lamb, in Slow Horses. Disgusting.

Think that was probably the point, so it worked.

Absolutely, but a bit too well in my case. When he farts, I physically retch 🤮

BunnyLover7 · 14/08/2025 11:57

Tulisa is only 37

Coffeeishot · 14/08/2025 12:02

I think it's partially that. Some of the stuff he did was horrific... But also I think I like the faux Cockney better than the real him, who comes across as an arrogant tw*t regardless of the abuse.

I'm not defending any of the abuse stuff, but I cannot fully loathe him because he was in that episode of The Fast Show and patently loved it.

Pedro Pascal - used to be pretty ambivalent about him then saw him pawing over his female co-stars to manage his “anxiety” and his face now makes me feel 🤢

Ugh yes - he gives me the heebie jeebies!

Also - Tom Cruise

Fountofwisdom · 14/08/2025 12:08

Barry Keoghan. Something repulsive about him. I had to walk out of The Banshee of Inisherin at the cinema because I felt nauseous looking at him. Can’t really explain it but 🤮

I don’t really have a physical reaction to people unless they have really creepy vibes (I had a nightmare about Phil Davis and now don’t like looking at him).
But many (not all) of the people mentioned on this thread could be thought of as conventionally unattractive so are people just being repulsed by ugliness?

No, Danny Dyer isn’t ugly. He makes me feel nauseous but even I can see he’s an attractive man and I can see why people find him attractive - but for some reason he makes me feel sick.

@LadyBracknellsHandbagg one of my special talents is finding the animal in a human face. Not particularly a useful talent but hours of funny with my friends 😆

I always thought Kim from Kim and Aggie looked like a pigeon

Gone off meat is a perfect description 👌 his complexion is that of a corpse....

Precisely. A horrid, bloated corpse. I think his personality and total lack of charisma play into it as well.

Yes he makes me feel so unsettled.

Chris Whitty is another one. Like a soulless ghoul with vacant, dead eyes.

Also Billie Piper. Wonderful actress, very beautiful woman, but I always think she looks in need of a good bath and hair wash.

See also Kim Wilde, Tracey Emin and Lou Sanders.

LOL I know exactly what you mean and I totally get why you'd put them all in the same bracket. There is something or the 'dragged through a hedge backwards' about all of them.

Even when they are dolled up for the red carpet they look faintly like they've just tumbled out of bed with a hangover, wiped last night's smudged mascara off their cheek with a tissue they spat on, and gone 'Yeah. You'll do.'

Dontsayyouloveme · 14/08/2025 12:21

Oh Nick ‘Grim’shaw and Scott Mills..… more greasy and unclean looking people..🤢

Jane Moore doesn’t make me feel sick, just can’t bear to look at her

Would quite like to be able to do that with similar results, tbh 😁

John Torode and Nick Knowles and for a long time I thought they were the same person.

Stacey Solomon and Joe Swash make me queasy, they both look like they need a good wash.

Agree about Solomon and Swash. At one point there was an ad that YouTube kept bombarding me with for 'hello fresh' and the sight of her with her orange skin, scraggy extensions and fake claws practically flying off her orangey hands.. spider-leg eyelashes dangling.. combined with the concept of food, fresh food, being pawed at by her made me genuinely feel like gagging as it made me think of long hairs in my food and horrors like that. She mentioned him by name, that she has 'a Joe Swash to feed' and that brought his orangey face to mind and it was all quite horrifying. A marketing disaster surely, they look like they live off kebabs. Nothing fresh about them. Poor buggers, they're harmless I'm sure.

I find him repulsive but he doesn't make me feel sick. To me, he's just a deeply unattractive man on all levels.

Starmer gives me the absolute and total creeps. He looks like he's trying not to look terrified most of the time, the rest of the time he just looks blank.

VelvetAndPVC · 14/08/2025 10:12

This 100%. I used to fancy him, now he makes my skin crawl

I never fancied him, but he is a good enough actor that he hid his real self quite well. Seeing him just being himself makes me shudder.

Anotherbeeloudglade · 14/08/2025 12:36

Jason Isaacs, just a very very creepy man.

Gotback · 14/08/2025 12:36

From ye olden days: Stewart Grainger. Actually upsets my stomach like I'm about to puke.

More recently: Simon Groom

Modern Times: Sam Smith

I’ve realised I have a problem with weird mouths so Trump makes me feel sick as do two Eastenders actors, the character Joel and the new one, Oscar who I have to turn away from when he comes on. His mouth is a bit like the Joker’s on Batman😂 Also Sarah Moore who is on Money for Nothing, her mouth, teeth and manly stride are all off putting. Probably a few more to add😂
