Denmark zoo advertising for unwanted pets to be donated.. They will be euthanised and fed to the animals...
If it was April 1st I would assume some sick Fool.

I've seen hoarding situations with rats and rabbits where the numbers have been in the hundreds that are rescued. Sadly there aren't enough homes for them all so something has to be done. Better a swift death than prolonged suffering in abnormal situations.
Also in the UK it's illegal to live feed to reptiles unless you have a note from a vet stating the animal will not eat non live.

@tumblingdowntherabbithole I think it was done more commonly in the past.
Hopefully not now !! 😻

Right, that's not what you said in your post at all though Confused

If you'd done a tiny bit of research, you'd also know it was incredibly rare even in the past - it's hardly the modern delicacy you're making it out as.

Zoos should not exist. Neither should people keep animals in cages. Humans are horrible

Ah I like the idea of the flower seeds mixed with the ashes and scattered about. Would the firework not burn up the flower seeds when it went off though?

I suppose if it's in different sections, they might get spread as it flies off. Dunno, saw it advertised somewhere years ago. Seems like a cracking idea.

Danish zoo that culled giraffe kills family of lions - BBC News https://share.google/qXUFiK1OxOXcOjKJY

It was put down and later dissected in front of visitors. Not slaughted in front of young children. Parents brought the children to the zoo to watch. It wasn't forced upon Danish families.

I love animals and can’t bear cruelty but it saddens me that we have one rule for pets (animals we take away from their own kind and make entirely dependent on us) and another for wild or farm animals, wWhich we’re often content to forget in their suffering.

All animals should be treated with kindness. Is it just that these are pets which is the problem? They aren’t going to know their fate, or suffer, so…what’s the issue?
