This is very interesting to me. I had an endometrial ablation 20 years ago and never had another period. I am 52 but have had no noticeable menopausal symptoms and without periods, I have no idea whether the menopause is done or still to come!

How did you not realise before now?!

My mum said she breezed through the menopause with no symptoms, and didn't even notice it was happening, so it's not always the doom and gloom we see in the media these days.

I think this is me too. I have PCOS so have been used to months without periods when I was younger, but then they were regular up to a few months ago - couldn’t say when exactly. I’m 51 and single and haven’t had sex in years so definitely not pregnant! For the last decade or so they’ve been very light, but then just seemed to stop. Have had no symptoms or trouble or anything.

Congratulations, you've gone through it. Contrary to popular depictions, plenty of women do get through the menopause pretty easily.

Like everything we only hear about the really bad side of it, no one wants the “oh it was a breeze” story

I started HRT when I became irregular and started to suffer with tiredness - but mainly it was for my bones!

I think it’s good that awareness is being raised about women who do suffer badly. But I think it should also be shared that not everyone does.

I was dreading this phase of life because of what I’d read, but for me it has been very manageable, especially with HRT!
