To think we should be able to remove responses that clearly haven't read the OP?

NC'd for this for obvious reasons but it's a real bugbear of mine and happens on almost every thread.

OP will include "currently staying at MIL's house in a rural area with no takeaways/delivery options" and then outline a problem with being able to get dinner because the shops are driving distance and she's over the limit only to discover all the food in the fridge/freezer is off. Every bloody comment will be "why don't you just order a takeaway?" and, more often than not, it's "Jesus! Order a takeaway and unclench OP 🙄It's not hard!!"

OP will write a post saying they have a problem at work or with a nursery or with a builder and say "nothing in the contract about it" or "we didn't have a contract on paper" or whatever it is. And every other response will be "check your contract" - and, again, usually as if the OP is stupid.

And it's not just in response to the OP. On a post about someone breaking their leg, a PP will comment with a story about breaking their arm and how they were advised to use a certain product. Another person will reply "that doesn't help with a broken arm" and the PP will respond with evidence that it does help with a broken arm - just for a dozen posters to go "OP DOESN'T HAVE A BROKEN ARM, WHY ARE YOU PROVIDING LINKS ABOUT BROKEN ARMS!?!?!" and completely missing that they were discussing broken arms at the time.

A post asking for recipes and will mention DS has a dairy allergy. Someone will recommend a recipe with dairy in but will say "I know it has sour cream, do you have a dairy-free equivalent?" and a dozen posters will kick off about "THAT HAS SOUR CREAM IN IT!"

It honestly exhausts me that it feels like most posters can't read. I swear it didn't used to be this bad - I feel like every post has posters just not reading and then getting irate at others because of their own inability to read, and usually being really bloody rude too. Is it just me?!

I absolutely never read the whole thread, can't be arsed, not relevant. I just read all the OPs updates, and respond to that.

But other people are quite entitled to write whatever they want, and we can all just scroll past it, like adults, provided it doesn't break the rules of the site.

I am not suggesting you don't do that btw, I am suggesting the OP learns to stop trying to control the behaviour of other people and reign in her sense of entitlement.

What a hypocritical comment!

You’re telling me that I have to scroll past posts/comments that I don’t like while you couldn’t restrain yourself from commenting here.

You’re telling me that I’m entitled for trying to control other people’s behaviour whilst telling me that I have to stop doing something you don’t like.., that’s pretty entitled of you, no?

Do you often expect everyone around you to behave in ways that you, yourself, don’t behave?
