I need inspiration. Eat meat and fish. Not great at eating a wide variety of veg (bad, i know) will likely have to go to the shop as not a lot in. Would like a big fat greasy takeaway but have neither the waistline or the funds.

air fryer chips and beans cheese don’t fancy to much today.

Stuffed vine leaves topped with minty chickpeas and soft cheese.

I was pruning my grapevine and found out the leaves are edible, seemed a shame not to use them when I was cutting some off anyway. Much nicer than tin/jar vine leaves IMO.

I’m finally making one of the gazillion meals I’ve saved on insta. Looks easy.

Here you go. I didn’t have German style mustard but my German friend said to sub with Dijon. Serving with a salad.

Salad nicoise and crusty bread.

DiscoNights · 23/07/2025 19:23

Spag Bol using a jar of sauce and quorn mince. Grated cheese on top and a big mixed salad.

DinoLil · 23/07/2025 19:24

I had a packet of Niknaks

Chelsea26 · 23/07/2025 19:30

Chicken tikka lettuce wraps with cucumber, peppers, pickled red onions, crispy fried onions, mango chutney and mint raita - I’ve been looking forward to it all day!

TimeForABreak4 · 23/07/2025 19:32

Rib eye steak and mediterranean veg.

spoonbillstretford · 23/07/2025 19:35

Quite an easy and quick one. Mango & lime chicken breast fillets done in air fryer (12 minutes), with cheaty Milanese risotto rice & added red pepper & peas (a few minutes in frying pan).

Don't want to rain on anyone's parade but my cheese on toast was brilliant.

Warburton's thick toastie bread, medium cheddar, pepper, few splashes of worcestershire sauce.

Heav.

When I have finished exercising in an hour- will have salad, falafel pitta... Not sure it's enough- but won't be able to be bothered to cook (I will have done 4hrs of exercise today!!) including a 60min personal training session and a 10k run, 30 min stepper and 30 min bike and some weights!!

Good for you but.. why so much?!

Is this a pisstake of the “mumsnet tiny portions loads of exercise” trope?

Thewalrusandthecarpenter · 23/07/2025 19:54

A piece of toast followed by a whole box of Sainsbury’s mini milk ice lollies. They are very small. I had a large lunch.

SwedishEdith · 23/07/2025 19:58

I had moules frites! Random trip to Waitrose and they were selling 'Too good to waste' bags of mussels for £1.90. Got some of their ready meal fries and a bottle of wine and made moules frites for tea. 😋

Nugg · 23/07/2025 19:59

Just bangers and mash. Was heaven. Needed some comfort food tonight

rubicustellitall · 23/07/2025 20:07

Stew and Dumplings with crusty loaf.. its raining and like Autumn here so thats what we had!

LittleGreenDuck · 23/07/2025 20:17

Spiced aubergine flatbreads with hummus, tomatoes, rocket and pomegranate seeds.

Might have a yoghurt.

MonkeyPuddle · 23/07/2025 20:25

We’ve had soft tacos (mince, peppers, onions, rocket, siracha) followed by a kinder bueno. Elite tea.

Bearbookagainandagain · 23/07/2025 20:29

Swiss chards, potatoes and chicken curry.
Using shop bought curry paste, 1 can of tomato, 1 can of coconut milk, 1 onion - all in one pot on the stove, cook about an hour, super easy!

mamagogo1 · 23/07/2025 20:29

Salmon en croute. Was delicious

WhiteNoiseBlur · 23/07/2025 20:36

Some of these dinners are the equivalent of little Ottilie in aisle 3 of Waitrose moaning at mummy because she won’t let them pick quinoa again for dinner. If you had bangers and mash/pasta/toast/etc for your meal DO NOT feel the need to excuse it with “I couldn’t be bothered to cook” or “was feeling lazy” - these are perfectly legitimate dinners people! Who the hell eats vine leaves?? Seriously?!

Ilovepatrickjane · 23/07/2025 20:37

Chilli with nachos, melted cheese and sour cream

Haha, I did think this when I posted about my mussels. But a) mussels are really cheap and great value and b) stuffed vine leaves are gorgeous (I just don't have my own grapevine to stuff my own leaves).

PruthePrune · 23/07/2025 20:41

Beef stew, made it at luchtime, cooked low and slow. Tis lush

Mew2 · 23/07/2025 21:10
