Ordered some cupcakes for a party. 50 in total. The other flavours ok but these ones(around 20 of them) ... What do you think? Aibu = I think they look ok

Aside from the obviously split buttercream, I wouldn’t expect the burnt drip marks on the cake cases from a professional baker. They look very home made.

There's something wrong with the frosting it doesn't look smooth it looks like it's separated or something.

I can’t believe they defended the decoration like that. The buttercream is split, the texture is all wrong. I’m an enthusiastic amateur baker and I could have made you 20 cupcakes for £40 that look miles better than those.

The placement of the strawberries and chocolate drops is so odd! And only two bits of strawberry and two chocolate drops per cupcake, weird.

If i was your boss id think you made them yourself and pocketed the money.

If they are meant to look like shit then they’ve done a good job.

If you ordered chocolate frosting vip ales then you have been robbed as they look disgusting and I would thrown them in the bin.

They are shocking. I wouldn’t be getting anything from them again

What did the others look like? They’re really quite shocking! I’m an amateur baker and I would be embarrassed to give those away let alone sell them.

Not very attractive. The yellow certainly doesn't compliment with the brown.

I can overlook the dodgy colour combo & the poo icing, it's the random sparse berry placement that is so odd.

The buttercream has split but they’d be okay if the brief was “dog shit on a cake”. Sorry op, they’ve handled this badly, especially considering you had been a loyal customer. They look incredible unprofessional and clumsy.

They are appalling! I’d be getting in touch with the people you recommended this bakery to, and unrecommending them v quickly! I’m agog they dismissed when you complained.. I’d have told them that they’ve lost your regular business now for both of these reasons..

They look rubbish and the buttercream looks like it’s split. I’d push back tbh. But the baker is an idiot if you normally spend £150 pcm with them and are usually happy. I wouldn’t want to shop with them again anyway if that’s the way they treat valid complaints from valuable repeat customers.

Wow so far the vote is 96%.i don't think i have ever seen it so unanimous on here (genuinely wonder what the 4% see?). Glad I'm not going mad. I thought i maybe was being to harsh, especially when they got offended, at the complaint. Thank you everyone x

They look awful! Aside from looking like poo, the placement of the extra bits is awful, they are messy, and the icing has split. So even if you can ignore the poo, they just don't look appetising.

Their response is a weird way to treat a regular customer (assuming you don't usually complain)
