To not take coats and boots to Scotland

We live in Cornwall and have never been to Scotland as a family.

Going up for the first two weeks in August and DH and I can't agree on whether the children (primary-aged) will need coats and wellies. We have a very limited luggage allowance.

Will be doing some city stuff and some countryside walks, though nothing too ambitious.

I think we need mid-season coats, raincoats, trainers and wellies. DH thinks we'll be fine with just raincoats and trainers.

AIBU to pack all this stuff?

Thanks all! So finally I think we'll go for a few jumpers, a fleece and a light raincoat. Of course will check the forecast closer to the date though!

Perfect! Side note, if you are coming for the festival also bring lots of money 😆

You need a light waterproof coat or jacket and some sweatshirts. It probably won't be too cold but you do need layers,.specially if you'd be doing walks you can get rid of sweatshirt and keep your light jacket if it's raining, I would deffo bring wellies or better yet waterproof walking boots as they give you better grip. I tried to go for a walk a couple of weeks ago in trainers (a walk that I often do) and ended up falling on my bum as it was so muddy and my trainers (or my balance 😂) were not suitable.

I hat being cold and I hate being wet. I'd pack wellies. They can wear the raincoat and trainers.
