I sweat, so badly. I've tried all the deodorants suggested on here, I wash with bar soap, I've tried the (can't remember what it's called) something 500/600.
I shower at night and put deodorant on, them wake up smelly and shower again!
Honestly, I smell so bad!
Please help!

Wear Uniqlo airism cami tops and pants under your clothes. They wick sweat away from your skin and stop sweat from getting in to your outer wear. Change them regularly obviously.

Noottoday · 13/07/2025 19:41

I had a really bad phase and kept it under control with radox shower gel and Mitchum roll on. Bar soap was useless for me. If clothes have old deodorant stains it won't work. Also it's no good washing the night before. Has to be in the morning. Wear cotton.

Failing that look at what you're eating and drinking. Try avoiding garlic, alcohol and see what helps. If if could be hormonal, what could you do to change that? I didn't realise that it might well have been linked to my lifestyle at the time.

Worth a try is Dove anti perspirant and deodorant crème stick

Rexona is better, but neither are probably good for op. She needs to see the doctor, but also use deodorant for excessive sweating. Dove is really not going to cut it.

Seconding Botox in the underarms.

I was sick of ruining delicate tops so had it done - about £300 on Harley St. Lasted 9 months.

tooloololoo · 13/07/2025 20:10

Do you drink a lot of water?

rub lemons on your underarm before you shower

newdaynewnam · 13/07/2025 20:16

Are you using bio detergent? non bio is really just mild fragrance, no cleaning power beyond water. “allergies” to bio are really a uk thing, about 95% of people are not sensitive to the bio components but to perfume in the detergent. try another brand.
And do you have cotton (pure, not poly cotton) clothes? Synthetic clothes hold smells.

OddBoots · 13/07/2025 20:24

I used to find the smell would get stuck in the clothes. We now have a small scoop of bio powder in the pre-wash, liquid non bio in the main wash and laundry sanitiser in the softener section and it seems to do the trick. We also dry outside as much as possible so the UV in the sun can assist.

OurBeautifulBaby · 13/07/2025 20:26

It could be that the smell has sunk into your clothes.

MMO · 13/07/2025 20:31

Perspirex!! I got a recommendation for this years ago (maybe on here).

You put it on at night after a shower and only need to reapply twice a week to maintain it. I don't even sweat under my armpits anymore, it's amazing stuff.

FarmGirl78 · 13/07/2025 20:33

Old Spice stick deodorant is the ONLY thing that keeps me dry. It's been a game changer. They do a really nice range of scents...I can recommend Bearglove, Rockstar and Ocean Spray (or something similar along those lines). Night Panther smells like aged horny men so don't bother trying that one.

rainbowsandraspberrygin · 13/07/2025 20:33

Things I’ve read on here:

  1. Driclor Deo - used myself as a teen
  2. sure cream stick deo - use now and it’s good
  3. bamboo clothing - boody is great. Bedding too from m&s
  4. do you eat lots of onion and garlic - try cutting down.

sounds like it good be hormonal? Maybe GP to check bloods and any other underlying issues

😂😂😂 aged horny men. Kinda want to smell it now!!!

lifetheuniverseandeverything42 · 13/07/2025 20:34

Botox. I had it a couple of times and then stopped (pregnancies). I haven't had it in years but I still sweat less. Odaban also helped but if you are sensitive that might cause issues, don’t need to use it daily though so might be worth trying. You can use it on other parts of your body too.

SqueamishHamish · 13/07/2025 20:48

Salicylic soap bar kills the bacteria under your arms. You can buy on Amazon. Also great for spots on the face.

It reminds me of a Tom Jones wannabee from the 70s, hairy chest and a medallion, who sprays Brut down the front of his pants. Its smells of desperation.

Ha ha ha - so gross. 🤮 we need more emoji reactions on here.

Visit your GP to rule out any medical cause.

andanotherproblem · 13/07/2025 21:05

Have you tried dryclor? Only thing that works for me, have to use it for a few days before it’s effective

NoEffingWay · 13/07/2025 21:09

I had an issue a while back where my washing powder wasn’t getting the smell out properly so when I was wearing them, after a short time they would start to get smelly. I bought some washing liquid from amazon that was especially for sports clothing and it worked brilliantly. My routine is that I wash with soap first, then shower gel. I then use Mitchum spray deodorant and that works fantastically. I also wash my bath towel every 3 days to keep them fresh, as using a musty towel defeats the purpose of cleaning myself. I also wash all of my clothes on a normal (not short) wash at 40c with a bio powder, as 30c does not get rid of bacteria.

foodtoorder · 13/07/2025 21:10

Recommend washing armpits in hibiscrub.
Body odour is stale bacteria, hibiscrub will get rid of this.
Available from boots, Superdrug etc

caramelsauce · 13/07/2025 21:37
  1. Wash with dettol bar soap and a clean wash cloth. You can then use a scented shower gel after this if you wish but it’s not necessary.
  2. witch hazel on a cotton pad and wipe under arms and any other sweaty areas
  3. Mitchum 48 hour cream deodorant in the morning and at night on clean skin
  4. Wash all clothes with added anti bac like dettol laundry cleanser or a cap of zaflora- also make sure use bio detergent
REDB99 · 13/07/2025 21:41

Try soft and gentle deodorising powder, it’s a talc like product that definitely stops smells. I use it on armpits and lower area, but can be used all over. I cycle for miles and it stops the sweaty smell.

I’d also get checked for BV as although this won’t cause sweating it can make all of you smell.

Optimustime · 13/07/2025 21:42

What's your diet like? I had a family member who was eating too much garlic and stank, it oozed out of their pores.

wizzywig · 13/07/2025 21:43

Would botox help for hyperhidrosis?

KellySeveride · 13/07/2025 21:46

I also think you need to take a closer look at your clothes as BO is usually stale sweat-and it needs some time to go stale which it doesn’t sound like it is.

A good bio washing powder and use a hotter wash for a bit.
