I don’t know if it’s just me so need to know some opinions. I feel like the picture must’ve been taken in a different light as the dress is much darker than I thought it’d be. First picture is the one on vinted, second is what it actually looks like. AIBU to think that it doesn’t look like the picture as in the shade of blue is much darker irl? I really don’t like it as it’s a dark navy blue, I was expecting an electric blue but please tell me if IABU.

Looks like the same dress. The electric blue colour is much nicer imo. What colour did the listing actually give?

Foreverm0re · 15/07/2025 09:41

Lazy seller. I always try and photograph in natural light and if I can’t seem to capture a true representation of the colour then I will say so in the description. It’s completely different, I wouldn’t be happy at all, how could they not say so in the ad!

MrsArcher23 · 15/07/2025 09:44

How much did you pay for it?

Morgenrot25 · 15/07/2025 09:45

It looks like the same dress to me - flowers clustered together in bird like shapes, just taken under different light conditions.
I'd always ask for more than one photo, taken in good light - not too bright or too dark, and ask them to state the shade too.

This is like the black and blue / white and gold dress thing all over again!

I'd imagine because the seller knew it was dark blue, that's what their brain sees when they look at the photo, they probably can't even see that it looks bright blue to someone else even if they try. It's the contrast on the grey black carpet I think that's accentuating the blueness.

YANBU
the first picture is electric blue, bright. The second is dark navy, dull not bright electric blue at all.

but it all depends on what colour it was described as, in the actual description of the advert.

I didn’t do anything about it as it was cheap and for the sake of the cost I will just charity shop it. Appreciate her camera might have altered it/lighting changed it.

I had the same on Vinted. A pair of shoes listed as Nude, photo was Nude but were def pink when they arrived! Not much point disputing it as they were brand new for £5!
