To ask for best coffee machines

Sorry I don’t know where to post this it’s I can’t find a food section!

I have just discovered coffee- I used to be a tea drinker! I absolutely love cappuccino that you get in coffee shops.

Does anyone know how I can recreate this at home - is there a simple and best coffee machine that would do this for me?! Any tips
Very much appreciated thank you ☺️ from someone spending too much money in coffee shops right now 😂

We’ve got the Nespresso Sage machine. It’s fantastic and a daily joy! Coffee shop coffee at home. I couldn’t live without it now.

Icepop79 · 10/07/2025 13:46

We’ve got a Delonghi Rivelia and absolutely love it. It was a big expense for us but we use it daily and it’s saved us a fortune in buying coffees from the various coffee shops walking distance from our home. It’s bean to cup so you just press a button and it does all the work for you.

Lmnop22 · 10/07/2025 13:52

Sage Barista bean to cup machine.

Pricey but so worth it!

whingebenefits · 10/07/2025 13:56

This coffee snob recommends De Longhi Dedica. Amazing quality for such a low price.

skyeisthelimit · 10/07/2025 14:02

I have a Tassimo. I mainly use it to make Costa Latte's. A friend swears by her Nespresso machine.

This coffee snob recommends De Longhi Dedica. Amazing quality for such a low price.

They’re on a prime day deal today so if you’re getting one today is the day!

Shedmistress · 10/07/2025 14:08

Aeropress and spend the extra £ on the coffee

Y2ker · 10/07/2025 14:09

I have a Gaggia classic espresso machine (it has a milk frother). I have perfected a lovely coffee... but it's a bit pricey when you add a coffee grinder into the mix.

Confusedmermaid1 · 10/07/2025 14:26

I wouldn’t bother with Tassimo
I find the pods so expensive even in cheaper shops and online. There is less choice as well.
We switched from a dolche gusto one and I would have preferred to stick with them but DH was paying.. 😅

SleepingisanArt · 10/07/2025 14:28

If you don't want to learn to steam milk you need a machine with automatic milk frothing. We have a Jura (5 years old which replaced a 22 year old Jura when it died) - they are not cheap but are fully automatic bean to cup and easy to keep clean.

Sevillian · 10/07/2025 14:28

Sage Barista.

IDontDrinkTea · 10/07/2025 14:31

Sage Barista. But they’re not cheap

Coconutter24 · 10/07/2025 14:33

We had a sage machine but just got the ninja, it basically does everything for you

MotherPuppr · 10/07/2025 14:34

What is your budget and how much room do you have? I'd love a bean to cup beast but sadly no countertop space. Delonghi Dedica is slim, cute and froths milk very well, but doesn't grind beans. About £100. Bigger than a basic Nespresso but not much wider. if I had a bigger kitchen I'd get a proper barista machine

I am not a fan of Nespresso type machines - a) taste b) waste.

Downplayit · 10/07/2025 14:37

Another vote for Delonghi. Would definitely get a bean to cup with a milk frother if you can afford it. Avoid the pod ones because of the waste and the expense of the pods. Delonghi customer service also very good.

Beachbodyready · 10/07/2025 14:39

I’ve got a delonghi bean to cup - it’s brilliant.

Melasma · 10/07/2025 14:40

Really appreciate all the replies…. I’m now googling! Thank you so much ❤️

Sage Impress Express bean to cup - expensive, and a slight effort to master, but worth it. I always make a flask of coffee for any journey now instead of spending £3/4 on a takeaway, and although freshly ground beans are the nicest, in reality you can use any coffee beans from the supermarket and just adjust the grind setting.

No3392 · 10/07/2025 14:44

I have a l'or machine and a milk frother. And a subscription to wonky coffee, so get pods cheaper than average.

I had a bean to cup, I've had a ninja coffee bar, a Tassimo and dolce gusto. My current combi works perfectly for me, re amount of faff etc.

I also have syrups and make gorgeous coffees 😆

EveryDayisFriday · 10/07/2025 14:44

We have a delonghi bean to cup at home, use it everyday, the coffee is delicious. Ours was a mid level one and has lasted 7yrs so far.

We take a pod machine when we go camping, a mini dolce gusto one. The pods are expensive but Lidl do their own versions which are cheaper and you can pick some branded ones up from B&M.

This coffee snob recommends De Longhi Dedica. Amazing quality for such a low price.

We’ve just bought one of these after our Bosch My Way (pods of latte / cappuccino etc) which was easy to use, died.
Lovely proper creamy or frothy coffee from the De Longhi (ground beans), but it might just be me but am finding it takes a little bit of practice to get just right.

TotallyAddictedToCoffee · 10/07/2025 15:22

DH bought me a Tassimo My Way and I love it, use it every day with the Costa or Jacobs pods

brushthepot · 10/07/2025 15:29

Tassimo has a proprietary pod system so no one can copy them as it reads a bar code on the pod, sorry T disc.

The Nespresso one accepts alternative branded ones, so Wonky coffee etc is a good shout for trying out new coffees.

We have a bean to cup Delonghi with a milk carafe so it makes cappuccino without having to froth the milk yourself, you just select a cappuccino. It is also self cleaning pretty much, you just empty the coffee ground pucks and occasionally when prompted run a descale cycle. We have had it 11 years and replaced an O ring ourselves via Youtube. It wasn't cheap but the coffee and crema is very good and in every cup.

longapple · 10/07/2025 15:29

another vote for aeropress! I've got one at home and one at work and I take it on holiday with me so I know I can have nice coffee there!

ThatsNotMyTeen · 10/07/2025 15:33

I have an automatic Siemens bean to cup machine with a milk container that makes cappuccinos, lattes etc. I absolutely bloody love it but it was not cheap!
