Sex slimeball Gregg Wallace sacked now blaming his “disability” for his behaviour

Just read that GW has been sacked from Masterchef and that 50 more reports of his disgusting perving have been received.
He has clearly learnt nothing after the backlash following his previous social media rant about “ middle class women of a certain age” and now claims his newly diagnosed “disability” of autism made him do it.
He even tries to make himself the victim as apparently he wasn’t protected.
As someone with autism myself his attempt to use this as a defence makes me want to shove his buttery biscuit base where the sun doesn’t shine.
AIBU to think he is toast and good riddance?

He completely lost me when he said middle class women of a certain age, wanker!

Yeah and isn’t he the same age?
I’ve known a few blame being pervy/porn addict on autism 😂 jokers.

@Fk48fj I don’t think it was an ignorant anti autism post. Just an honest opinion based on the experience of the poster growing up when she did, in the way she did. And it’s not derogatory to say bandwagon, it’s a figure of speech and is a perfect example of what people do, we see it here all the time when armchair psychologists suggest someone may have done something not nice because maybe the person is autistic.

I agree. As seen with Greg people ARE using it as an excuse for deviant and poor behaviour and there is nothing anti autism about calling that out. The poster should reserve her anger for the likes of Gregg especially when the poster they have criticised has stated they have ND traits themselves.

superplumb · 09/07/2025 09:39

Whiny man child got in trouble and claims it isn't my fault. My 9 year old does this. Men really dont grow up do they

soupyspoon · 09/07/2025 09:43

And to play devils advocate for Greg, yes for Greg....

People with ASD brains dont always know when something isnt funny, because people laugh politely and think 'what a wanker' and their brains arent always able to differentiate body language and facial expressions to detect reading the room correctly.

They're not always able to understand the very fine line between cheeky affection and crossing a boundary

Ive worked with lots of autistic young men who would be described as sex pests, who dont understand how you get a girls attention, how you ask someone out, how you maintain relationships, how you care for someone safely, how you manage your physical space around people/partner, how you manage sexual needs without violating someone elses. None of these boys and young men were able to see why they needed to change what they were doing, none of them had LD as a comorbidity.

Snorlaxo · 09/07/2025 09:49

Funny how we don’t hear about women with autism being sex pests 🤔

ND is the new bipolar and sex addict excuse that celebrities used to use to excuse their behaviour. It is damaging actual ND people.

soupyspoon · 08/07/2025 22:27

Im not surprised and most of this site shouldnt be either given that it gets trotted out all the time to excuse bad behaviour.

So why not excuse his then?

Yes. It’s the ultimate excuse nowadays.

Galatine · 09/07/2025 14:51

NC28 · 08/07/2025 22:39

That is actually a point. It’s suggested constantly here, nobody can ever accept that some people are just bad bastards.

This nails it!

BungleWasBrill · 09/07/2025 21:13

I agree with you on these points.

Back in the 70s and 80s, GW's sleazy behaviour would have been swept under the carpet by management. They'd probably have told the women complaining to have a sense of humour. Those days are now gone and GW doesn't seem to have realized. They should preserve him in aspic or something.

RachelsPeeves · 09/07/2025 21:30

I stopped watching Masterchef when Greg(g) commented on a contestants food by saying it was right up his strada chocolada 🤮 he was another hiding in plain sight and seeing what he could get away with. Vile and, enabled by those around him 😡

wizzywig · 10/07/2025 11:17

Op I'm laughing at your buttery biscuit base but totally agree with what you've said. Blaming autism is low. Utter insult to all the fine law abiding people who have the diagnosis

Aquarius1234 · 11/07/2025 01:09

10 years too late. BBC always takes forever to finally act and sack people.
He got away with it for so long.
This would have shocked him more at 50 when he still needed the money!

Aquarius1234 · 11/07/2025 01:28

So yeh all the bbc executive producers of Masterchef are just as bad for constantly renewing his contract.
As im sure in the TV world there is no rules that say X presenter must present show for 20 years...
It's their fault for keeping him on.
Gregg must have something on them as so many other presenters get axed or changed after a few years.
BBC do this all the time and that's when the talent has no bad behaviour let alone this.
They love to cover up.

Hazelsticksandwillow777 · 11/07/2025 01:53

murasaki · 08/07/2025 22:37

He seems to be blaming the bbc for not protecting him from his own behaviour due to a disability they didn't know he had.

GW is completely responsible for his own pervy actions but the BBC should also be held equally accountable for allowing him to carry on so long when his behaviour was known about! And I say that as a BBC supporter! What were the producers thinking?

Hazelsticksandwillow777 · 11/07/2025 04:06

The News Agent podcast is worth listening to on this.

As John Spoel pointed out; he can understand someone with autism not wanting to wear underpants; but that doesn’t really explain why you would then choose to pull your trousers down in front of women.

No. He should be, but the guys at the BBC who run that boys club for other guys like themselves, will find a way to give him another chance at some point. Watch out in a couple of years time for him on the riverbank programme, or a food show filmled abroad, or as guest on some mindless low ratings show, or something similar. And we will be paying his salary again.

Oh I agree. Although apparently they did send him to 'don't be a sexist arse' training. However they should have stepped in when after that they continued to receive complaints of him being a sexist arse.

Aquarius1234 · 11/07/2025 11:49

He's hardly high functioning?
He thinks he's funny and likes to be a pervert.

Pemba · 11/07/2025 12:37

Thanks for the link @murasaki that's hilarious!

I thought autism was supposed to make social relationships that much more difficult yet somehow he's had plenty of wives, even before he got famous. Funny how it's only allegedly affecting him in one area which happens to be not knowing what constitutes acceptable behaviour?

But surely having "plenty of wives" itself points to a problem?

Autistic people are 6 times more likely than non-autistic people to get divorced.

HangingOver · 12/07/2025 11:30

I've never worked with him but everyone who I know who has says he's nutcase level unpleasant. Bully and egomaniac.

Katemax82 · 12/07/2025 11:33

Having a autistic adult son who wouldn't hurt a fly this makes me so angry when people use it as an excuse for vile behaviour

Yes I suppose so! I'm just amazed he managed to get anyone to marry him in the first place given what has come out about him.

Have you read the posts on MN about relationships? 😆

So many women will tolerate all sorts from average earning or even unemployed men with no income and hang on desperately for marriage if it’s not forthcoming .

So no it’s not surprising to me if a high earning celebrity can get women to marry him. A lot of women put up with poor behaviour unfortunately and don’t seem to care about how a man has treated his previous partners. Hence you get plenty of women marrying deadbeat fathers who badmouth their exes etc

It’s no great achievement for a man - especially a rich one - to be able to persuade a women to marry him tbf.

And now John Torode has been given the push as well. Sounds like the bbc wanted a total reboot and that JT is tainted by association. Some unproven accusation that he may years ago have used a racist term, although not as an insult. Obviously racism is not to be tolerated but what strikes me is he says he has no recollection of the incident. So is it one persons word against his and that’s it? He always seemed like a nice person 🤷‍♀️. I’m glad he’s spoken out though because the whole thing of the bbc telling him to say he had mental health issues and was stepping down seems wrong. Seems he wants to shine a light on it all.
