To think there must be something that can be done for an aging face?

Anyone have any procedures done that have actually worked? I've had Botox and profilo. If you have any experience with polynucleotides or mid face fillers or micro needling with RF please let me know.

I need some volumising and some any wrinkle help (lower face).

If you are in the aging gracefully brigade or don't believe in cosmetic injectables this is not your thread.

I think some people need educating in the concept of "growing old gracefully" (that's just growing old by the way, adding gracefully is purely because you think your choice is superior)

haha! so well put and so true

Yes. I’m 60. Last summer I started a few things and I am now getting many compliments from friends about my skin. I didn’t tell any of them what I was doing

I started taking collagen and other supplements such as 3 in 1 magnesium, hair skin & nail vitamins, pro biotic, drink more water.

I wash my face at night with an Elemis balm, put on hyleuronic acid and a night cream

in the morning I was with either a saylic acid wash or glycolic wash. I use a scrub mask thing from Charlotte tilbury once a week. I use a glycolic toner, put on hyleuronic acid every morning and use an Elemis day moisturiser.

my make is a bb cream that has 50 spf

i treat my neck and chest the same as my face

last summer I went to a dental surgery that also does beauty treatments and they used the freezing thing to remove age spots and sebbhoric keratosis I had on face, neck, chest and back.

i started DMK facials every 6 to 8 weeks. The lady does lymphatic drainage massage in my face, neck and chest. I continue the massage (not nearly as strong as she does it) when I put on my night cream.

I had micro dermabrasion this summer (once) and a course of microneedling on neck and chest where little bumps and some more sebhorric keratosis popped up after a sun filled holiday earlier this summer.

im using aveeno skin relief oil on my arms, hands, feet and legs. Crepey skin is smoothing out big time. Feet look great

also am doing yoga a few times a week. Doing wonders for toning, relaxation and digestion.

I cut down alcohol to once or twice a week. I had been drinking 2 bottles a week myself. Now it is one bottle split over two nights, those two nights are spaced apart.

I stopped smoking a few years ago. I do take HRT.

so it is a combination of internal care, external skin care and relaxing exercise. No Botox or fillers.

wish I started this years ago

@tempname1234@HopscotchBanana thank you for sharing your routine and experiences. I am 48 and this is all very much invaluable!

Thank you also @sunshinechaser

when people talk of tretinoin - is this a prescription cream? Whete to get it from? Many thanks

its5oclocksomewheresurely · 02/08/2025 13:49

I had a neck lift, face lift and upper and lower bleph when I was 53. Very happy with the results.

Notmycircusnotmyotter · 02/08/2025 13:53

Does anyone know where you can get Olidia ?

sunshinechaser · 02/08/2025 14:19

@tostakyyes tret is prescription only in the UK but there’s loads of subscription websites you can get it from. Dermatica and Skin and Me are probably the two best known. It’s about £25 per month. You can get dodgy ones online too-just do a search on MN and you’ll see loads of threads with recommendations. It’s strong stuff though so if you start it go low and slow with lots of hydrating layers of toner/serum/moisturiser/SPF each morning.

@sunshinechaserthanks a lot - thats helpful. I will have a look on other threads as well

I’m looking into the 1 hour face lift

I had to google that. It looks really good. Have you researched to find a trustworthy surgeon? I'm a bit tempted I must say.
