Am I a “psychopath?” (Light hearted)

My friend’s DD has just called me a “psychopath” because she has discovered that I butter hot dog buns when serving/eating hotdogs (The ones from the glass jars made of god knows what…)

My other friends present also think this is strange.

Please tell me that I’m not the only one!

Firstly: mayonnaise on a hot dog. Just NO.

Secondly: why butter on a scone with cream and jam? Surely the cream replaces the butter element?

However, I know somebody who fills a glass with water and then adds diluting juice. Now THAT'S the behavior of a true degenerate.

Agree, butter!
I wish they buttered ‘show burger’ buns too.
at horseshows if I am paying £7 for a burger, I at least want butter on the bun

Yeah this always annoys me

My mother used to fry the hot dog in butter and then butter and fry the bun. Great with mustard and relish. It’s not something I do bc hot dogs are kind of gross whether in glass bottles or packaging but I’m always up for a dirty water dog in nyc.

My grandma used to butter Rich Tea biscuits AND chocolate digestives … I think if it was a food that presented any kind of a flat plain, it got buttered.

It's more "psychopath" to not butter your rolls 😱

lilkitten · 03/07/2025 12:02

I wouldn't think hot dog buns need buttering, esp as I'd use ketchup and mustard. But I don't butter anything, it reminds me of my grandma having butter on everything. I only butter toast where it will melt

Well so long as you don't weigh 22 stone and have orange hair, you're fine. A Freudian might, however, make something of your desire to have a good lick of a long greasy warm phallick symbol, but that's for you to work out.

InterestedDad37 · 04/07/2025 16:16

Nope, not strange 😀🌭🌭🌭

zingally · 04/07/2025 16:54

I don't butter the rolls personally, but can't see a problem with doing so!!
