It’s not hot everywhere today!

shouts from the rooftops

gosh the amount of snarky replies I’ve seen to threads today…
…why are you doing xxx in this heat??
…has the heat got to you with that attitude?
…why are you posting about walking your dog-so cruel in the heat!
….maybe the heat has got to him and he doesn’t cope well in this weather?

A public service announcement to remind you that people post on here from all around the UK (some areas very mild today) and indeed the rest of the world

Thank you…

This thread definitely happens every year! 😂😂

The hot areas are densely populated. Thats why you get these comments from so many.

I’ve been working in a non air conditioned school all day. The classrooms are hotter than outside and that’s in the 30s. The sweat has been dripping into my eyes. Roll on some rain, and I say that as a sun worshipper.

I’ve literally never had sweat drip into my eyes before today!

Lastandfirst · 01/07/2025 20:28

Yesterday in Northern Ireland it bucketed down with rain, today we are a balmy 18°, bit chilly in the shade.

Although I wouldn’t say no to a good couple of days of sun, we are back to cloud and rain tomorrow 😔

I'll swap! Pick me! Pick me!

Gladly, I'm so cold! 🥶

Newblackdress · 01/07/2025 20:31

Around 18 here in the NW over the weekend, with showers and breezes.
It's rather annoying to hear forecasts such as 'High temperatures all over the country' as I do up my cardigan.

milesmachine · 01/07/2025 21:36

Ahhh I have found my people. 18 and pleasant but not too hot today. And as has been pointed out, I should remember that weather and current affairs only happen in the sphere of London which is the centre of the universe!

Very glad today to not still be living there. Sounds like sweaty hell!

It was 32 degrees in my home office at 3pm this afternoon, I felt almost tearful as it was awful and I had to finish a project. Roll on tomorrow and cooler weather.

doodleschnoodle · 01/07/2025 21:50

15 degrees here today! I was wearing a hoodie while reading the BBC news stuff about the heatwave Grin

DustyMaiden · 01/07/2025 21:52

I started the day in Cornwall it was 22 degrees and everyone was saying how hot it was. Arrived in Essex 5PM it’s 38 degrees.

BogRollBOGOF · 01/07/2025 21:59

28⁰C and disgustingly humid. Not within 100 miles of London.

I've watered the garden in the hopes of triggering rain to quench its thirst...

My strawberries are looking cooked and given up fruiting. My raspberries are small, shrivelled and ripening before they can go plump and juicy.

garlictwist · 01/07/2025 21:59

I’m in Glasgow. Wooly hat and two jackets today. Would love some heat. But the news and weather are always very London-centric and whatever happens there always gets the most focus.

PuppyMonkey · 01/07/2025 22:09

I’ve traveled home from a pleasantly warm Cornwall this morning to a horrendously hot Derbyshire. Hate it. On a positive note, I did of course go to Gloucester Services. Grin (which was boiling).

to the PP, I know it’s not hot everywhere, but come on… you had to put your heating on? Hmm

HeadNorth · 01/07/2025 22:22

Drizzly & cool in Perthshire. I do so enjoy the national media claiming everyone is sweltering in this heatwave….

Walkerzoo · 01/07/2025 22:25

Jeans weather for me. It was heavy rain yesterday as the news was on about heatwave.

4PawsandATail · 02/07/2025 09:06

I got sick of hearing the news/weather repeatedly saying "UK Heatwave" well it's not a fucking UK Heatwave if half of the UK isn't getting heat 🙄

SloppyThePoodle · 02/07/2025 10:20

Honestly I'm so glad I'm in Scotland, enjoying 18-20° and trying not to feel smug. Since I've had long covid I cannot tolerate high temps at all, 23° is my absolute limit now. Very glad I'm not in London.

liveforsummer · 02/07/2025 18:09

I live in a city so fairly densely populated! I have been soaked to the skin twice today and my heating is on!

DuesToTheDirt · 02/07/2025 18:24

Even worse today, 12 and pouring :(

Nikki75 · 02/07/2025 19:30

17c sunny but really windy .

lilkitten · 03/07/2025 12:03

My parents are on holiday in Northumberland. Earlier this week they were in 17 degrees and drizzly, while we were at 32 degrees. We're only in the midlands

Glitterblue · 03/07/2025 12:05

It was 11 and wet that day in Northumberland.

BebbanburgIsMine · 03/07/2025 15:43

18 and rainy in Aberdeen.
