It’s not hot everywhere today!

shouts from the rooftops

gosh the amount of snarky replies I’ve seen to threads today…
…why are you doing xxx in this heat??
…has the heat got to you with that attitude?
…why are you posting about walking your dog-so cruel in the heat!
….maybe the heat has got to him and he doesn’t cope well in this weather?

A public service announcement to remind you that people post on here from all around the UK (some areas very mild today) and indeed the rest of the world

Thank you…

16 degrees and raining in Greater Manchester, I'm so jealous of all your 30s!

Yep , mancunian here , it's much cooler today, light drizzle which is annoying as I don't have a coat jumper or brolly with me and I have to stand at a bus stop without a shelter soon.
There's no pleasing some folks 🙃

PatsFruitCake · 01/07/2025 19:02

Yep, cool, rainy and green in Cumbria today. I am slightly irritated by my southern colleagues and their assumption the weather is hot everywhere. Other parts of the UK do exist.

henlake7 · 01/07/2025 19:03

33C here and I feel like Im being slow roasted.
If the heat ever travels further north please feel free to be as miserable, grumpy, pissed off and done with it all as us southerners!

IamFamousIam · 01/07/2025 19:05

Still got my vest on and the winter duvet!

beasmithwentworth · 01/07/2025 19:08

Yes but people only tend to comment on the weather that they are experiencing, whether that’s hot, raining or whatever else. It would be a rather long winded not to mention boring exchange if everyone acknowledged what the weather was like in every area of the UK wouldn’t it.

aredcar · 01/07/2025 19:08

north wales here, 15 degrees and drizzle. I am quite enjoying it after yesterday’s 28. I do feel sorry for those down south with the over 30s temps- horrible when you’re trying to work and sleep!

BendingSpoons · 01/07/2025 19:09

It's been 34, feels like 36 where I am today. It's made me short tempered and no longer able to think properly, so I'm guessing some other posters may have written snappier replies as a result.

I generally like the heat but right now I'm looking forward to tomorrow's predicted rain!

Anewuser · 01/07/2025 19:15

I’ve been working in a non air conditioned school all day. The classrooms are hotter than outside and that’s in the 30s. The sweat has been dripping into my eyes. Roll on some rain, and I say that as a sun worshipper.

Hedjwitch · 01/07/2025 19:17

Shitty weather in Central Scotland. I'd love a heatwave

RabbitsRock · 01/07/2025 19:18

Not sure of temp here in Cornwall but it’s overcast atm. Was sunny earlier but not unbearably hot.

ilovesooty · 01/07/2025 19:20

17 and cloudy in Yorkshire. I want to go back to Crete.

MyRootinTootinBaby · 01/07/2025 19:28

I’ve been freezing today, actual goosebumps.

LilacWineIsSweetAndHeady · 01/07/2025 19:29

I feel very blessed to live in Lancashire right now. It got a bit hairy yesterday at about 29° but we are back down to 15° and drizzle.
I love a warm, sunny day but anything above mid 20's is too much!

FlorbelaEspanca · 01/07/2025 19:30

I have been in London for some days. I am really glad to be going up north (where I belong) tomorrow.

Octavia64 · 01/07/2025 19:32

Really hoping for rain tomorrow. East Anglia.

VanillaVein · 01/07/2025 19:35

We're in the East Midlands and it's been 28-33° the past few days. It's uncomfortable and I'm done with it now.

BlueRin5eBrigade · 01/07/2025 19:39

It's 34 here. I'm desperate for rain.

Wolfpinkola · 01/07/2025 19:45

It’s been very humid here (Portsmouth)

MotherofPearl · 01/07/2025 20:00

I’m so happy it’s cooled down here in the NW. I feel so much more energetic now that the heat has eased up.

Dappy777 · 01/07/2025 20:09

Essex has been a living hell today. So flippin hot I could scream. Couldn't sleep last night because my bedroom was like an oven, and by four this afternoon my mind had gone to mush. I began talking gibberish to someone because I could barely think straight. Even now, at eight pm, my arm is stuck to the table as I type. If this is a taste of the future, I will seriously consider moving to the Highlands.

BloodyHellBob · 01/07/2025 20:10

15° and windy but blue skies here in Northern Ireland and very pleasant really. Flipping lashed yesterday evening though!

MadameSzyszkoBohusz · 01/07/2025 20:11

There’s a reason I moved away from the north at 20 and have barely been back since, and that reason is the appalling weather.

Have been thoroughly enjoying basking in the 33 degree heat in the south east today.

Squirrelsnut · 01/07/2025 20:13

Well, it got to 35 in my classroom today. I'd swop for dreich/drizzly in a heartbeat.

smileymylie25 · 01/07/2025 20:17

34 here and it’s been horrendous with a 5 month old and 16 month old. I want to move somewhere that’s cold and drizzly lol. I’m so grumpy when it’s hot.

jimmyeatworld · 01/07/2025 20:22

West Midlands was 29 today. Had enough now so glad it’s cooling down. If I haven’t got a pool to cool off in I don’t want that kind of heat !
