It’s out on the 7th not the 1st and I’m sad about that. Seems odd to me to bring it out part way through the month. Halloween house and wreath are out tomorrow though. I figured I might as well connect day delivery because by the time I’ve got train tickets to the big, dirty, smelly city and got the obligatory Starbucks or bubble tea I’ll have spent twice the cost of next day delivery.

Next Minifig series. I’m a little disappointed, never felt the urge to as much as watch Spiderman but likely to collect them anyway as I never met a minifig I didn’t love.

From what I’ve read on a Leno blog, it seems that you either get a GWP or you can pre-order but not both for the same set. So the Italian Riviera that’s going to be our next family build comes with a GWP, but the Arkham Asylum is a pre-order so there’s no GWP. I think that’s what they meant anyway. I’ve never pre-ordered anything as I’m pretty sure there’s usually a GWP if you wait. It might not be linked to anything in particular, just random.

the galaxy one was my daughter’s build after finishing her GCSE’s and I must say one of my favourites , the fender sits alongside nicely. Looking at framing options for the galaxy as want it to be more visible as I adore it !

This is what I have seen (give the pic a minute). We’re away the coming week, but I am still leaning towards ordering on the 7th. Theoretically I could try to buy it in the airport on my way home but I have never done that and it feels like it might be a huge faff in general and specifically with my kids in tow. Though they had a good look round the Gatwick store on our way out. Some sections reminded me of all the unbuilt sets in my basement, special thanks to DD who shouted “Mum, you have this one and this one!” at Tudor Corner and something else.

I love the little delivery truck. That Milky Way looks great! I’ve still to start Starry Night. I’ve not been in the mood really. I tried to fix my Easter chocolate surprise set tonight seeing as Ds found the missing flowers in his Lego storage box but I’m still missing pieces. I know they are here somewhere, it’s just a case of where. I’ve told Ds absolutely no more pick and mix from the Lego store after I found several boxes of unused pieces that he was desperate for at the time.

The Lego website is updating in dribs and drabs instead of all at once so most things coming out today are still showing as pre-order

Troubledwords · 01/08/2025 07:03

The botanical flowers gwp is underwhelming, it's a set I already have. So I might wait until a better option appears, see if a general gwp comes along that I want more.

MiniFig · 01/08/2025 08:44

I hunh my Milky Way set on the wall using the attachments on the back. Works well, a bit fiddly to hang, it looks great - it's against a navy wall so really shows up.

Not impressed with the new minifugs or the last gap.

The GWPs are a bit rubbish lately but the Fortnite one is great for DS and will go with his Brite Bomber brick head that was a GWP last year.

Well that is definitely not helping my don't buy new releases resolve.

The roses are lovely.

Big, smelly, dirty city here we come. I need a cheer up today and ordering online isn’t the same. Halloween sets are for buying today 🎃

Hollowvoice · 01/08/2025 14:52

Ooh. I want the Game Boy
And the retro telephone is cute

LegoTherapy · 01/08/2025 15:58

@TheWayTheLightFalls we’ve got a Frappuccino! Spent nearly £200 😱

ReginaaPhalangee · 03/08/2025 15:04

I did my first technic yesterday - remote control Porsche. Hated every minute of it, and by the last 2 bags I told DH to take over haha! Too fiddly for me and I broke a nail too haha!

Oh these are beautiful. I have two of those roses in my pretty pink flower bouquet and they’re my favourite. I want this set too!

I like that. I do enjoy the technics but they are definitely fiddly, I like the way they don't come apart easily unless I've gone wrong then it's a pain.
Anyway I can't buy any more we don't have room.

Inspired by this thread, I’ve been browsing Lego. Do you think the Lego Mini Orchid would make a good starter set for someone who hasn’t done Lego since her 25 year old DC was around 10? I was looking for something which didn’t have a huge amount of pieces, but I’m worried that I may struggle with the pieces being too small as I have problems with my hands some times.

Dearover · 03/08/2025 19:10

I would imagine that you'll be fine. The chrysanthemum is a little fiddly but the orchid looks sturdier. They're nicely satisfying as you see a quick result

LegoTherapy · 03/08/2025 23:07

Technic was awful when I first did it. I found a few goes and I learnt how it all kind of works compared to regular Levi. It’s fiddly and annoying. I hated the catamaran that I bought as for his 6th birthday. He lost pieces so we had to order them and didn’t do it until a couple of years ago. I don’t mind technic now but I’d rather not if I had the choice.
The Starry Night is possibly my favourite build so far outside of the Tudor Corner.

Thanks. A quick result would be good! I’m doing some jigsaws but only mini ones so I don’t get bored.
