I never eat and rarely drink at work. Mostly because I like to take my time eating and physically can't eat quickly, and there's very few opportunities for a 'quick drink' of anything because it's a physical job. If anyone was rude enough to comment on my not eating or drinking then I might well tell them that I lived off nourishment in the air simply to shut them up.

I eat at home, where it's relaxed and I don't need to feel forced to gobble. Maybe he's the same?
