As for the situation in the ME. As others have said, all very orchestrated, right down to Iran warning the US (and in turn the UK) and Trump publicly thanking them for early warning. Trump wins favour because he'll be the hero who brought about a ceasefire. Iran saves face. Qatar know Iran wasn't firing on them but the US bases. All missiles intercepted due to early warning/ pre-arrangement. Israel thanks US for their support, and accepts no further promises of involvement.
