Will my neighbour ring the police on me for this

I know I know i'm terrible and deserve 25 to life, I'm an awful person, morally bankrupt. The heat has forced me to open all windows and all I have heard is people's shitty little dogs yapping all evening on and off. I just lost my temper, couldn't take it anymore and yelled out the window:

'take your dog inside before I take my rifle outside' and sure enough, the little shit stopped immediately.

Spare me the moral rant, I know I'm a bad person and I don't care, just wondering if I should expect a visit from the bobbies. And I have no rifle or any sort of criminal or even traffic background.

Next time point your speaker out of the window on max volume and find a snippet of a rifle being fired Grin

l remember trying to sleep during the day as a student nurse on a week of night duty (that was a full 7 nights in a row and we had to do all of them) and a bloody barking little dog living in the downstairs flat who never shut up. It was torture.

I wouldn’t worry. I don’t think throwing your trifle in heat induced frustration is a criminal offence.

😂

I did the same thing two nights ago, its not even their dog it's their sons and every time he comes over he brings the ratty little sh..t with him. I didn't threaten a rifle but it came close 😂

My neighbours have 3 dogs that bark each time I venture into my back garden. I now treat them as wooly security guards as, if they are barking at me for walking out the back door of my own house, they will certainly bark their heads off if a burglar decided to try his/her luck! Luckily barking doesnt bother me that much and they are normally very quiet. Feel your pain though OP.

My neighbours constantly shout at my dog to shut up and it makes me laugh 😂 no idea what they get from it
But I do have a barky dog, I've tried everything to get him to stop but no luck.
But I'm not an asshole so its 24 degrees in Scotland, I have closed the back door (he will ran out and bark at nothing) so I'm sat in a puddle of my own sweat

Honestly if I could stop him, I would

Honestly with a barking dog that won't shut up and has been driving you mad all day, the owners deserve shouting at!

My temper overflowed in this exact scenario and I went storming round and banged on the door so hard I bruised my hand! I was raging!

PugInTheHouse · 20/06/2025 14:28

I have dogs and it still pisses me off when dogs bark constantly, although dogs do bark so a small amount obviously I am fine with. If dogs are constantly barking it causes my dogs stress but also the poor animal must be quite distressed if just left outside.

We had builders next door and my big dog barks when unknown people go in the garden, only for a few mins then is fine, I don't want to train this out of him too much as if we had an intruder its useful (i bring him in if he doesnt stop quite quickly) They shouted 'oh shut up' to him. At first I was a bit WTF, you are making more bloody noise at 8am than him bit then I thought fair, no one wants to be working and see this loon barking over the fence at them 🤷‍♀️

Wish the Tom cat that sits outside my window screaming at midnight would listen to threats as well as the dog did! I can set my clock by the fucking thing.

I feel you. My neighbour has two dogs that seemingly bark at the wind. They will bark if you dare pull up on your own drive (Our houses aren’t attached so they shouldn’t suspect I’m a stranger trespassing..) They bark if you take out your keys, they bark if you open your front door. The other week I dared step foot outside my house and they were up scratching and barking manically at their front door to the point said neighbour opened the door to stare blankly at me. I stared blankly back.

Mind you, one of these dogs is a beagle, I’ve never known beagles to be so yappy although I’m gathering since it’s both dogs, it’s an owner not training issue rather than a in the dogs genetics issue. I hate them. Truly.

DogsandDungarees · 24/06/2025 14:56

I would certainly report you.

Dog gate across the back door?
