Naked bike ride

Was in London yesterday: naked bike ride. Fine.. not my thing (or many other women). They finished the ride/protest/whatvever and then conjugated near B palace.. and just seemed to be happy wafting their micro penis’s about for kicks and giggles/

A lot of horrid middle aged naked men kicking about just felt unnecessary.

and 🤮

I've done 3 times in Brighton, it was fun and I didn't feel unsafe at all

My sister did (notUK) it a few years ago, and said it was about even male/female — said it felt fun and liberating. There’s usually an after-party of some kind, so maybe that’s what you saw when you were interested enough to start measuring penises?

SantasLargerHelper · 16/06/2025 09:14

They do it in Manchester as well. It's predominantly white middle aged men, you get the feeling they're mainly doing it in the hope of checking out any women daft enough to join in.

Each to their own I guess but perhaps not inflicting it on others? I dunno, it doesn't offend me as such, but I wouldn't do it myself personally. Knowing what pervs some men can be.

DuckieDodgyHedgyPiggy · 16/06/2025 09:16

Back to the OP, from a practical viewpoint since they weren't carrying clothes with them, and they were probably on a bit of a high after competing the event, if they were going to hang around ( no pun intended) afterwards then it would have to be naked.
I wonder how they get back to their cars/tube home without having clothes with them?

DoctorRoseReturns · 16/06/2025 09:34

SupportivePantsAndHusband · 16/06/2025 09:08

Because the naked body leaks things and can spread diseases by contact. Because genitals look ugly. Because we've evolved to wear clothes.

People can wear clothes and still leave sweat and other fluids behind

Naturists don't think bodies look ugly. That's a judgement

We haven't evolved to wear clothes, our society sets an expectation that isn't held by everyone. Different cultures have different attitudes to nakedness

You were interested enough to check out the size of the penises ?

It was weird how many teeny-tiny willies there were! Little mushroom things...

Yes I did look.

Found the whole thing quite funny - except the over sexualised naked men in wigs and full make up. That was creeeeepy.

amooseymoomum · 16/06/2025 09:40

would have thought that it might be a bit painful imagine slipping on to the cross bar
hope no oone was in at B Palace looking out the windows

BorgQueen · 16/06/2025 09:49

It’s not amusing, or ‘innocent’, it’s sexual assault on people who don’t want to see it and don’t consent.
Why isn’t it illegal? No difference between this and a pervert flashing on public transport.

I find builder's bum a sexual assault, they should be arrested

Simply being naked isn't sexual assault and doesn't require other people to consent

Flashing is specifically done to gain sexual pleasure, cause shock and offence

MauriceTheMussel · 16/06/2025 10:23

I mean, arguably this is being done to shock (possibly cause outrage) - it’s literally a protest (against exactly what it isn’t too clear. A PP said oil. I had read it’s about cyclists versus cars and cyclists rights)

Ahwig · 16/06/2025 10:29

My mum was a bit of a prude really but as a treat I had taken her to the theatre for her bday. A friend of hers had also come. Little did we know but the day I’d picked was naked bike ride day. I thought my mum would be horrified but she surprised me by thinking it was hilarious. Her friend on the other hand thought it was absolutely disgusting. The more disgusted her friend was, the funnier my mum thought it was. My mum was 80 and within a year was diagnosed with dementia but that memory still makes me smile .

BarBellBarbie · 16/06/2025 10:35

Sneering at their age and the size of their genitals undermines any point you may have.

Nudity and flashing are very different things. There is nothing inherently wrong with a naked human body.

ThePhantomoftheEcobubbleOpera · 16/06/2025 10:37

It's just really grotty.

XWKD · 16/06/2025 10:38

Why do you have such contempt for the naked men and not the women?

What have their age and penis size have to do with it? Do you belittle women when their bodies don't meet your standards?

TorturedParentsDepartment · 16/06/2025 10:43

No bras and the potholes in the roads - ouch I'd be heading for two black eyes if the ladies weren't restrained.

5foot5 · 16/06/2025 10:47

What a nasty thing to say. Would you have been more tolerant if they were young and attractive men? Or women?

TheNewVillageIdiot · 16/06/2025 10:49

Christ on a bike, seeing someone naked is not “sexual assault” FFS.
How insulting and diminishing to victims who have actually experienced SA. Get a fucking grip.

ThePhantomoftheEcobubbleOpera · 16/06/2025 10:50

Because the intention is to be transgressive and fucking quirky and voyeuristic. It's all so bloody try-hard.

MauriceTheMussel · 16/06/2025 10:53

Tbf to the OP, a group of naked women is nowhere near as potentially intimidating as naked men. Men dominate the world and them out in the buff just smacks again of “oh yeah, they take up space and force themselves into our field of vision/radar.”

He was there too?!

I was going to put ‘(naked)’ in there, but thought someone might object!

I don’t see how a bicycle stops it being indecent exposure.

This is what I don't get either.

Riding a bike seems to have a comical element for some reason - wouldn't be so funny if they were strolling through the park.

The ones I've seen have been 75% men.

It’s been an event for many years, it’s not sexual assault, that’s a ridiculous thing to say. I’m not sure sexual assault victims would appreciate you saying that either.

Nor is it illegal.

Agree - the route takes them down Piccadilly. If one hopped off and popped into Fortnum’s not some biscuits, there would surely be a consequence.
