Naked bike ride

Was in London yesterday: naked bike ride. Fine.. not my thing (or many other women). They finished the ride/protest/whatvever and then conjugated near B palace.. and just seemed to be happy wafting their micro penis’s about for kicks and giggles/

A lot of horrid middle aged naked men kicking about just felt unnecessary.

and 🤮

I don’t care about the penises or boobs on display (whatever their size). I just can’t get over the hygiene implications, especially on the rented bikes. Can you imagine the butt crack/ball sack/vag sweat particles and bacteria left on those seats 🤢

And if it did, indeed, cause distress and alarm? How do you actually know that none of the men are flashers or exhibitionists doing it for kicks?

I don’t know how much you know about the male anatomy, but if a man is sexually excited by what they’re doing for any length of time, there’s at least one very obvious indicator which would certainly get them thrown out of the group by their fellow cyclists.

If it caused distress and alarm unintentionally, that’s not a crime. People are distressed and alarmed by all sorts of perfectly harmless things. If there’s no malicious intent, it’s not a crime. Nobody has a legal right to be shielded from things they don’t like to look at.

If a single man or group of naked men were gathered in a park in public they would be cautioned for indecent exposure. But if they decide to hop on a bike and cycle around, it’s fine 🤔

They wouldn’t necessarily be cautioned at all. It would depend on the situation.

DH and I were in London a few years ago and the naked bike ride rode past us - I got a great selfie of the pair of us laughing as we watched it go by

i did a photo frame for my nan’s 90th at the end of June that year, one pic of each kid, one of me, one of DH and I, and I thought ‘oooh, I’ll use that nice laughing London photo!’

It wasn’t until after nan died six months later and I took the frame home (it had been sat on her coffee table for carers/visitors/numerous doctors to admire) that I realised there was a solitary bloke with his arse out, balls swinging, pedalling his boris bike who had snuck in the side of the shot 🙄🤣

Oooops. Still, he remains in the frame on my dressing table to this day.

EmeraldShamrock000 · 15/06/2025 23:34

Sounds rank. Imagine falling from your bike naked. Idiots.

doodleschnoodle · 15/06/2025 23:36

I find it interesting these naked events tend to have a disproportionate amount of middle-aged white men taking part. See also nudist beaches and naturism. I’m sure most of them don’t have any nefarious intentions but it’s an interesting phenomenon nonetheless!

As long as they wiped the seat down after with some anti bac.

Do the cyclists wear shoes? If so they're not fully naked and demonstrating rather neatly why humans developed clothing (including shoes & cycle helmets)

Also not very aerodynamic for the males - this has been tested in a wind tunnel- too many flappy bits slow you down!

🤣🤣

TranceNation · 15/06/2025 23:37

It's more often that not men rather than woman.

NoThankYouSis · 15/06/2025 23:38

Bring back shaming of things that should be shameful I say. If something needs normalising it’s usually because it’s not normal. Grin

MBChB so quite a bit. Even flashers can have erectile dysfunction.

I saw the one in Manchester a few years ago ago

the crowd /spectators were hilarious everyone laughing and cheering great atmosphere

But why would it really matter if they are exhibitionists doing it for kicks when the whole point is to be naked with people looking at you?

So you’re fine with exhibitionists co-opting non consenting bystanders into their kink/fetish? I’m not.

TinyRebel · 16/06/2025 00:15

It’s exhibitionism. They’re a bunch of filthy perves who should be arrested for indecent exposure.

Moonmelodies · 16/06/2025 00:25

Is there a correlation between cycling and micropenises? I guess hung guys might find bike saddles problematic maybe 🤔

1SillySossij · 16/06/2025 01:36

It's an oil Protest which appears to be working as we are all talking about it

Must have taken a lot of balls to do it though..

Literally 😜

Andoutcomethewolves · 16/06/2025 02:34

I didn't hear about the bike ride, but as a teenager lived next to a nudist commune who were constantly at our local lake I liked to swim in, and my favourite beach was essentially taken over by nudists (not UK). It was pretty much exclusively middle aged men in both cases.

Seeing 50 year old men playing ping pong or throwing frisbees, genitals swinging, as a 14 year old was not pleasant 😬

Almost spat out my brew!!! Hahaha!

CherryAlmondLattice · 16/06/2025 04:48

I remember being sat outside Wahaca on South Bank with my family when the naked cyclists started going past. It was years ago and we still laugh about it today.

I keep threatening my teenager that I’ll join in 😄

There were quite a lot of women, I haven't seen the whole event but I would hazard a fair guess that there wasn't a "disproportionate amount" of white, middle aged men

And just as an aside, there are non-white cultures who view nudity completely different to our somewhat repressed view here

It's not, they're not and the police are aware of the whole event

Where’s the laughing emoji when you need it 😂

Mumsnet has removed it. People are too precious to be laughed at nowadays. Also no care\empathy emoji.

TheNewVillageIdiot · 16/06/2025 09:06

Looks like they had fun. I don’t understand people’s shock and disgust at the naked body, bike seat germs notwithstanding.

Because the naked body leaks things and can spread diseases by contact. Because genitals look ugly. Because we've evolved to wear clothes.
