This isn’t a question for those who are t/total/don’t drink at all, because obviously it’s an irrelevant question as your body doesn’t process alcohol, so the answers will be completely moot

Anyone else crack away….

Would it make you feel drunk, a bit tipsy, totally tipsy, totally fine…

Say over about 3 hours

Drunk and heading for a bad nights sleep and a bit of hangxiety the next day! I'd probably be really enjoying myself though!

xILikeJamx · 13/06/2025 08:54

That's slightly more than a one bottle of prosecco, slightly less than 5 pints of standard lager like Carling or something.

I'd be feeling very merry, but not what I'd call 'drunk' either. Sore head if I had to get up for work the next morning, fine on a lazy Saturday morning.

IamSmarticus · 13/06/2025 08:54

Maybe a bit merry but certainly not drunk and no hangover the next day.

ClosetBasketCase · 13/06/2025 09:09

Driving no, Probably quite drunk, but still in posession of all my facilities. Not falling over, or sleepy, ptobably buzzed

Amba1998 · 13/06/2025 09:12

A bottle of wine - tipsy over 3 hours. But not wasted

WhistleBlower8 · 13/06/2025 09:21

I'd probably be fairly tipsy

BastardesEverywhere · 13/06/2025 09:25

Had to Google but that would be 4.5 ish pints of larger.

I'd feel a bit merry in an 'everything is great with the World' kind of way. And if in the evening I'd be getting the urge to dance 💃 😂

I'd still be steady on my feet and able to hold a decent conversation though.

However that's probably nearly my tipping point - another two pints after that (unless very spread out) and I'd go from merry to pissed and wanting my bed.

Omeara · 13/06/2025 09:28

I would be drunk, and my filter, which doesn’t work at the best of times, would fail me completely and I would become brutally honest about everyone and everything.

I’d then quite possibly throw up, then after an appalling nights sleep I’d wake up with the fear. I’d eat ten tonnes of greasy sugary rubbish to attempt to cure my hangover, whilst still panicking about my runaway gob.

Alcohol is not my friend.

MyKingdomForACat · 13/06/2025 09:41

I can drink 5 cans over 5 hours but the strength is 3.8% abv. I’d be fine the next day. Nothing stronger than that tho

Didimum · 13/06/2025 09:43

So ten units? That's a bottle of wine (I don't drink cans). By your scale I'd feel 'totally tipsy', likely heading into drunk.

KoiTetra · 13/06/2025 12:00

A bottle of wine over 3 hours? Id be at the higher end of tipsy but nowhere near hammered. The room wouldnt be spinning yet.

CosmicCuppa · 13/06/2025 12:07

Tipsy but not drunk or out of my mind.

DesperateforSunshine · 13/06/2025 12:07

Getting merry - certainly not pissed. Why?

MysteryNameChange · 13/06/2025 12:11

If I'd eaten well that day and it wasn't too hot I'd be tipsy but fine. Wouldn't drive obviously. If I hadn't eaten and it was hot I'd be pretty drunk but I'd still be fine toddling home and wouldn't be spewing up or anything.

SaintNoMountainHighEnough · 13/06/2025 12:18

Reasonably chilled out by that point.

LoveNRoses · 13/06/2025 12:22

Snap

anon2022anon · 13/06/2025 12:24

Fairly drunk. I had 2 cans of cocktail on a train journey that were double strength from M&S, so 2 units per can. I could feel that I'd had them at the end of the journey, which was just over an hour.

PickAChew · 13/06/2025 12:25

Sleepy and ill.

DiscoBob · 13/06/2025 12:26

So like five Stellas? Five of those little gin and tonic cans? Five medium glasses of wine?

If I drank them really quickly one after the other I'd feel bladdered and a bit nauseous. If I drank them over the course of a whole day and evening I'd feel pleasant, just a tiny bit merry but not impaired in any way.

But that's the kind of amount I do drink across a whole day/night about once or twice a week.

Also it depends on how much the person has eaten. And if they've had water or soft in-between. Which I do tend to do.

AutumnArrow · 13/06/2025 12:27

Pretty drunk but not to the point of feeling unwell.

Titasaducksarse · 13/06/2025 12:30

A little tipsy. A bottle of wine over 3 hours isn't that much.

HappiestSleeping · 13/06/2025 12:43

Depending on what I'd eaten, that's a can of Fosters every 35 minutes. I'd probably feel fine, but would be over the limit to drive.

I wouldn't want to operate any machinery either.

This!

gianfrancogorgonzola · 13/06/2025 13:28

I’d be completely trashed

Elsvieta · 13/06/2025 21:49

Drunk (not in the fun way), and feeling like death all the next day, but that's perimenopause for you. Twenty years ago that was just Saturday night.
