Hi please tell me honestly if this is me being too serious or am I right?

I love animals and never want to see any being harmed. I have my own cat who is my little shadow and best friend.

I have a new friend (6 months give or take.) She knows I love animals and how much I love my cat.

Anyway, she keeps saying how much she dislikes cats and is going to skin mine when she comes to visit. I laughed this off.

she sent me a vid where an animal was being mistreated and I asked her not to send me anything like that, sort of laughed this off.

She told me she previously went to a festival and left her dog home alone without no one coming to feed it etc for 4 days. She gave the dog up eventually. I didn’t comment.

Last night she sent me a video of two rabbits all well and fluffy at first then the video cuts out and then two rabbits skinned and put on sticks appear, they’re then cooked and eaten.

I politely asked her not to send me anything like that. She said I’m a meat eater so shouldn’t be bothered. I said I know I am but I don’t want to see videos like this.

is this weird? She hasn’t said she’s joking but seems to find winding me up like this amusing. I’m rethinking my friendship???

Id send her a message saying stay the fuck away from me and go see a GP you clearly need help if you like them sort of clips.

I only found out about her dog last week and she doesn’t have it anymore. Luckily she’s not visited here. I had told her clearly that im highly protective of my cat.

She is unhinged and I wouldn't continue the friendship - but I also wouldn't just drop her or block as I would be a bit concerned about her reaction.

In the meantime, don't impart any further private information about your personal life or holiday plans etc., and just delete without reading or watching if she sends you videos or memes.

Yes I think I will do this. I feel sick. I couldn’t sleep after she sent me the video as it was quite late.

I did want to say it back to her when she said it about my cat. I usually would. I don’t know what’s been going on with me lately. I feel like all that assertiveness I had is gone. I usually would have told her to eff off previously and called her sick. I don’t know why I haven’t.

Yes it has and I am lonely. I’m left alone for high number of hours due to my fiancés job.

Why would anyone send these type of videos to someone else, regardless if that person is an animal lover or not?! It's plain weird. The fact she seems to take delight in deliberately upsetting you and seems to not be horrified by these dreadful videos, is quite frankly a big massive red flag. I personally, would end this friendship, and block her.

Yes she's a psycho and I'm also concerned that you've even questioned it. Of course that isn't normal. It sounds like you're quite lonely, struggling with low self esteem. Do you work? Do hobbies? Perhaps you need to enlarge/enrich your life a bit.

Yes I work from home full time. I go to gym classes with my best friend about twice a week.

I see my sister regularly and have few family things coming up. I read a lot and go walking.

I think you are unreasonable for remaining in contact with someone who left their dog alone for 4 days without food. You seem like a nice person so I don’t know how you could tolerate that. This person is despicable and, yeah possibly a psychopath. She also holds you in contempt which is why she has continued to send you disgusting images of animal cruelty. Get as far away from her as you can

When someone tells you who they are, listen. She’s capable of searching out videos of animal cruelty, watching them to ensure they are suitably horrific and then forwarding them to you. It’s now time for you to decide what sort of person you are.

I would not want this person as a friend. Block, move on.

And you're friends with her because? You're the one that's weird, professing to love animals yet politely asking her not to send videos, but opening them even though you know they'll show horrible stuff done to animals.
