To be unsettled with current day time tv adverts

I am miffed by the ads on tv these days, they are not allowed to put a ad on about chocolate or crumpets as the children need to be protected but they can put filth like this on during the day so my young children can watch it.

Is it just me?

Seems like they're trying to push as far as they can jut to cause a talking point (and it's clearly working). I'm not offended by then but they are truly crap adverts. Unfortunately crap adverts tend to stick in your head and will probably lead to an increase in sales.

My Nan gets really upset about the newer tampon ads but in honesty I'm really quite pro that as I'm just sick of women being shamed for natural and essential bodily functions.

\no more hiding tampons in brown paper bags!

I'm hoping for an ad campaign that talks about TSS so we finally get to a place where no women die annually from tampon use.

Personally I think there’s a balance between not shaming body functions and graphic descriptions. And it has tipped too far now. Certain things are best kept more private in my opinion

Oh and generally the fact women appear to pee themselves on a regular basis! The adverts are just awful.

I just saw that Bulky Pee Pad woman is now in the Wickes advert

TigerRag · 10/07/2025 10:30

Sunlife and the naturists. Why did anyone think that's acceptable?

He was annoying but please bring back Howard from the Halifax adverts!

If you want uncomfortable ads the ultimate is the rash if "lower body spray" adverts involving ppl sniffing each others crotches

I laughed like a drain the first time I saw that in the cinema! It doesn't make me feel uncomfortable, I think it's a clever way to sell a product to paranoid and/or unclean people.

The Sure advert worked for me 🤷‍♀️ I saw it and thought "ye it would be good to have something for those intimate areas"

They aren't filth. It's just trying to normalise body functions and smells

Except it's not normalising it is it? It's in fact saying that normal body smells are abnormal and that we should be trying to cover them up. It's creating paranoia in order to sell a product nobody needs.

Lalgarh · 10/07/2025 15:25

Other deodorants actually caution you not to use them down there BC of adverse effects so god knows what irritations and rashes it might trigger in the worst possible places

tuvamoodyson · 10/07/2025 15:49

I always fast forward the ads…

Illjusthavethebreadsticks · 10/07/2025 15:52

I hate the body spray one with the person dressed as a dog and all the sniffing and ‘hello my good boy” creepy .

I am baffled by the concept of "lower body spray". Just wash all your bits properly and daily and wear cotton underwear ffs. You don't need to spray deoderant near your bum or fanny.

Any product featuring the words feminine or intimate are unnecessary.
