Is it weird to share a hotel room with only a double bed with a small child

Was hoping to book a stay in one of the center parks hotels with my son who is seven. All the twin rooms have gone but there are still some with only a double bed left. Would it be weird for us to get that one?

No not at all, I stayed in a hotel recently with one double and one single, my teen DD had the single and I shared the double with my 10 year old DD. Not weird at all.

I shared a double bed in hotels with ds when he was older than 7! It is fine and not odd at all.

No. It’s a bit weird to have to ask.

Haha I had to share a double bed with 25 year old DS a bit ago, due to a hotel cock up! It was kind of horrific, but we lived to tell the tale.

My youngest asked to share with me, whenever dh was away, until he hit puberty.

It’s not weird and anyone who thinks it is should get their mind out of the gutter. In many cultures cosleeping is completely normal. It’s only in very recent history that humans have all had separate beds.

ok, no idea why i had a wobble. i think i've been trying to navigate the whole changing rooms/bathrooms at swimming pool this morning which made me question myself.

If changing rooms or toilets aren’t clearly signed, they should be. The general rule is that mothers can take their male children in until they are eight (so pre-pubescent), but if it doesn’t say, you should ask.
Once puberty starts, boys should use the facilities for their own sex. It’s entirely common sense.

They tend to be gendered spaces, holiday rooms are not! Hope you both have a great time.
