OP posts:
CassandraWebb · 05/06/2025 19:28

Reading
Sewing (when I am well enough)
Watching terrible trashy TV
Playing chess
(Re)Learning french
Annoying my husband
Singing made up songs to the dog
Building Lego
Waiting in the car for my children to finish an assortment of hobbies
Samurai sudoku
Crosswords
Doing chair yoga really pathetically and making all the elderly people in the class feel incredibly strong and youthful in comparison

I used to have lots of active hobbies but I have a neuromuscular junction disorder and COVID made it much worse, so my hobbies are basically sedentary now.

tigger1001 · 05/06/2025 19:37

Gardening,I love it especially this time of year when everything is flowering and the gardens full of sounds and scents.

Baking,it's something I'm good at but hadn't done for ages but I'm getting back into it now because the looks on my DC my DHs faces when they know I've baked make it well worth the time it takes

I tried gardening. A massive failure it seems as I woke up today and my freshly planted tomatoes , rosemary and rose plant are all dead. I can never seem to keep anything alive!

Cooking & baking

Reading (however I am quite jaded at the moment as finding a lot of recent stuff is just so poorly written)

Volunteering- always said I wouldn't work with children who are first school age as they are terrifying. However as my own children are currently this age I thought I'd give it a go and it appeals very much to my inner child. Absolutely loving it at the moment.

Astrak · 05/06/2025 21:20

Being a cat servant to my Tabby Tyrant Cat. Reading. Watching the river bids - I live on my barge on a fast flowing tidal river. Visiting my retired Arabian gelding, who lives at vast expense, with his breeder and his little herd. Texting my son, who lives 400 miles away, with his wife and three children.
Going to the local laundry and chatting to people. Making sure that our boatyard is litter free. Going to the local village library.

Flying. I had a midlife crisis and decided to pursue a crazy hobby.
So yes, I got my licence and now I rent a small plane and fly wherever I like, landing for an overpriced coffee and bacon sandwich 👍🏼🤣, then flying back.

Wow, now that is an amazing hobby 🙂 Hope this isnt a silly question, but how far can you fly to and does it take a lot of planning or can you just decide on the day where you're off to ?

Lovecatsandwater · 07/06/2025 06:31

Paddleboarding, hiking, running, gym and Instagram.
