Painting - try and do a few minutes at least most days, even if it's a few strokes whilst I am waiting for kettle to boil.
Writing - try and get get a few words down several times a week
Reading - every day (even if it's 'audible' whilst walking the dog)
Film - watching/making/talking about
Crafting - random things I've seen on Etsy and thought 'I could do that!' (sometimes I can, sometimes I can't)
Tennis - not as much as I should but really enjoy
Walking DDog - every day - gets my 10,000 steps in and resets my head
Travelling (obviously not an every day thing)
Board games and Puzzles - try and do a crossword or similar a few times a week. Family aren't fans of games like me so I don't get to play often, but really enjoy simple games like yahtzee and backgammon

I work in a very peopley job too. That's probably why my main hobbies are craft stuff I do on my own! I do belong to a craft guild, but they only meet one Saturday a month, so it's not too much and it's not on a work day!

I spend a lot of time researching travel destinations and how to get from the airport, how to use the local transport, choosing a good spot to stay in, that kind of thing. Mind you I rarely get to go to all these places in the end! But armchair travel is great.

I can potter around the garden for hours too. Not much achieved as I can't move the big bags of compost or the heavy pots without help lol. Then I plant things, don't like the look or the siting, and pull them up to start again. Then I leave it for the day. Or two days or more till I get in the mood again.

I walk lots, just around my local area which has a river, lots of nice parks and a few independent shops together with a big shopping centre, and my favourite, great little coffee shops. I head out, and either call in to the shops, or stop for coffee, and then say feck it, and get the bus back ha ha.

Other than that I read and like many others have the guilty pleasure of watching crime stories and watching YouTube and down that rabbit hole I go. Audiobooks are brilliant for the lazy reader like me too. I'm retired and can do whatever I want now, which is often very little, but after a lifetime of working, who cares!

IncompleteSenten · 05/06/2025 19:03

Making 1:144th scale miniatures, mini embroideries, miniature painting, plus cross stitch, embroidery, hand spinning wool, knitting, quilting and everything else that takes my fancy. I made a bowl out of twisted rags a few years ago.

Hertsmum78 · 05/06/2025 19:04

Reading
Cinema/film/TV
Gym/exercise

These are the top three I care most about and find time for whatever the circs.

I also like cooking and would do more if I had more time. And I follow football in a very casual way - big fan of my team despite not knowing that much about the game from a technical POV.

Hertsmum78 · 05/06/2025 19:05

Oh and eating! If that counts. Hence why I have to spend so much time in the gym.

TheLadyIsAVamp · 05/06/2025 19:06

Colouring, I got lured in by Tiktok and it's the first hobby I've had that's stuck.

Labiabella · 05/06/2025 19:08

Flying. I had a midlife crisis and decided to pursue a crazy hobby.
So yes, I got my licence and now I rent a small plane and fly wherever I like, landing for an overpriced coffee and bacon sandwich 👍🏼🤣, then flying back.

ChandrilanDiscoDroid · 05/06/2025 19:10
