Superking Duvet NOT Superking!

SuperKingNot · 05/06/2025 10:53

PLEASE HELP. It’s driving me mad!

I have bought two ‘Superking duvets’ only… they aren’t Superking. When I put them inside the sheets, at least a quarter of the sheet isn’t filled, and so either me or DP ends up with a floppy bit of sheet with no duvet in it. It looks shit and it’s cold.

How do I fix this?? Do I need to upgrade to a queen duvet instead?!

you might have the duvet rotated inside the cover. My duvet had squares not lines and i left the label on the bottom corner so i know which way it goes.
the duvet is slightly wider than it is long but at a glance its not that obvious.
there are some places that the covers seem bigger than the duvet leaving extra room

FranticFrankie · 05/06/2025 13:20

The 'duvet lines' thing mentioned above was a recent revelation after I read it on a pevious post - it makes a massive difference to the fit; I couldn't believe I'd being doing it wrong for years Confused

CandleMeltAway · 05/06/2025 13:20

I have sharpied the top and bottom with the word top/bottom of my duvet so that it always goes on the right way. My bedding always fits as it is either M&S or Next.

BashfulClam · 05/06/2025 13:22

Turn it 90 degrees. The lines should actually be horizontal on the duvet…took me a year to realise this.

BashfulClam · 05/06/2025 13:24

It also means the label is on the bottom side rather than actual bottom of the duvet. That was why I eat doing it wrong I was expecting the label to be at the bottom.

HotCrossBunplease · 05/06/2025 13:26

Placemarking to find out if @SuperKingNot rotated it and solved the problem!

Schweden · 05/06/2025 13:32

This is the third thread recently about people putting duvets in covers 90° out. My mind is blown every time that so many people can't work this one out. There must be extra bunched up top/bottom while the sides are empty Confused

It isn't about lines having to go one way or the other. Some duvets have square stitching. It feels like there is a whole generation who didn't have shape sorters or block puzzles to understand basic pre-school geometry! 😳

Solaire18381 · 05/06/2025 13:45

Is it from Asda? I find Asda's very ill fitting. Won't be getting their duvets again they never seem to fit.

march654 · 05/06/2025 13:46

change the duvet round 90°. I did this for a couple of years before I got told I was putting my duvet in the wrong way 🤦‍♀️

marsal · 05/06/2025 13:49

Yep a superking duvet is wider than it is long, Turn it around and you'll be fine.

Yes this, lines on the actual duvet go horizontally on my superking. I found this out a while ago and makes a huge difference. Occasionally I still forget and I get really annoyed with myself!

wobblybrain · 05/06/2025 13:53

Do you mean inside a duvet cover? Because I can’t work out how a duvet would go inside a sheet?

afaloren · 05/06/2025 13:57

We had this (and it led to a few midnight barneys!) until I read on here in fact that the lines are supposed to go sideways not up and down. Solved the issue. Felt quite stupid!

SuperKingNot · 05/06/2025 17:08

Can confirm this worked. I made the same mistake as another poster - assuming the label meant the bottom!!

Looks much better 😁

Superking Duvet NOT Superking!

That looks like a lovely cosy bed.

It’s only an extra 6inches or so. So hard to tell visually and the extra length is easily hidden over the full 6ft, it’s just a bit puffer.

It really really isn't hidden.
DH has accidentally put ours in the wrong way before when not paying attention and it is obviously wrong. You can see it isn't laying right the moment you walk in the room.

I learnt this on here recently - Superking duvets are meant to go in the cover with the lines horizontal, not vertical! It’s solved this issue for me

This! I just made our bed for the first time correctly!

WolfFoxHare · 05/06/2025 18:05

What are these ‘lines’ people are talking about? Our duvets have stitching vertically and horizontally, so they’re subdivided into squares - is it because we have feather duvets? Do non-feather duvets have stitching in just one direction?

Champere · 05/06/2025 18:10

I am struggling with the pillow ratio on a super king. Our four standard pillows look lost.
has anyone tried super king pillows?

notnorman · 05/06/2025 18:18

My beds in Spain have different lengths as well as widths. 😣

Jb0011 · 05/06/2025 18:21

Stopitbella · 05/06/2025 10:54

The lines on the duvet need to be diagonal, not horizontal, have you tried that?

I had the same issue with my sk duvet until I read that on here!

This,I was so baffled when I 1st got mine 😂
