Bought expensive chocolates and they're disgusting

Visited a chocolate shop in North Yorkshire yesterday and after paying £30 in the cafe for not much (2 tiny tubs of ice cream, a GF brownie, a regular brownie, two teas and two juices) I treated myself to some fancy pick n mix chocolates.

They taste stale. The fudge one tastes like soap. The peach one was so disgusting I spat it out, and I adore peach flavored stuff. I've had a rubbish week and they were meant to be a little treat to myself ☹️ it was £8 for four little chocolates. Wibu to contact them and let them know?

I'm off to raid the kids' stash from lidl which will be nicer!

Why moan about them on here rather than just contacting them directly? Are you hoping to put others off going there?

Looks like you have posted on Reddit as well given the indentical post on there, why deny it?
Either way just chalk it up to experience, I accidently paid almost £20 for what was basically a small Crunchie in Harrods a few years ago.

It’s shitty to name and shame a small business online and slag them off. It’s not their fault you’ve had a shitty week, so emailing them should have been the end of it rather than starting threads on 2 major forums about it.

Judging by the replies on Google reviews, they don't respond in a pleasant way to anything that isn't complimentary. Seem to have quite an attitude and take everything personally.

This is why I don't eat out in expensive restaurants - the disappointment afyer paying £££ would be brutal!

@PinkGardenParty if you contact either the seller or the supplier they’ll probably send you some goodies.

It could be anything - improper storage, some defect in production, wrong dating… it doesn’t happen often but it does happen.

If it was me, I'd have just admitted it but I genuinely don't post on Reddit. I tried it a few years ago and hated it. Never used it since.

Or someone just c/p it to Reddit for karma. They get a lot of bot and AI posts as the karma system encouraged frequent posting that gets attention. The accounts then look 'legit' and can post other bot stuff without being detected as easily.

Why is everyone really over invested as to whether the OP posted on Reddit or not? Now that is weird.
