Each to their own, but it would send me straight out for a skip and all the magnolia paint I could get

FWIW I actually quite like colour, but used in a controlled way as a feature rather than plastered all over everything

clarepetal · 24/05/2025 13:06

I love it too

Fangisnotacoward · 24/05/2025 13:37

It's a bit too colourful for my taste, but I love the fact someone has a house this bold, bright and beautiful.

Makes such a refreshing change from the sparse griege houses everyone seems to have.

RedRosesAndGypsophelia · 24/05/2025 14:07

It looks like it could have been a lovely house before the current owner 'decorated' it to their (lack of) taste.

MoominMai · 24/05/2025 14:13

A bit too trippy for me.

Allseeingallknowing · 24/05/2025 14:14

I’d be worried about that channel of water so nearby!

Galliano · 24/05/2025 14:22

Santasbigredbobblehat · 23/05/2025 22:27

I Really like it-apart from that ceiling.

Agree the ceiling spoils it

Funnywonder · 24/05/2025 15:22

It’s a bit mad … in a good way!! I wouldn’t live in it myself as there’s too much going on, but my taste does lean a little in that direction tbh.

LakieLady · 24/05/2025 15:47

Davros · 23/05/2025 22:31

I don't like the big window at the front

It looks as though it might have been a shop at some point. There are quite a few houses in my town like that.

The decor is all too busy and fussy for me, I'm afraid. And I'm no minimalist, not by a long way!

Raspberrymoon49 · 24/05/2025 15:55

Breath of fresh air in contrast to all the open plan grey soulless boxes that are so popular

ProperCupofTea · 24/05/2025 17:09

Hideous, And seems overpriced given it's in the middle of nowhere and clearly needs a LOT of work (ex-kitchen with a bath in it and new kitchen looks like its been thrown together from random bits of furniture. both inside. Then there's the horrible ceiling and electric heating as well. The garden is less 'sanctuary' and more overgrown mess. And I agree, rats and bad smells from that waterway....

I agree some colour is better than greige/beige soulless boxes but there's a vast difference between this floral, calf-shit yellow monstrosity and "nice use of colour and a bit quirky". Would cost a fortune to get all that sorted out and then you'd top out the price ceiling for the area.

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 24/05/2025 17:14

In picture 25 , it looks like the water tunnel goes under the house

InPraiseOfIdleness · 24/05/2025 17:22

Busy road, cramped, visual assault of clashing patterns and colours in poor taste, clutter, weird ceilings, terrible garden and in an impractical shape, no proper heating, not in a great area… no parking, no privacy, and it’s listed!

I guess it’s cheap, so there’s that. Although for good reasons!

Sortoutyourshit · 24/05/2025 17:22

Had to look up where it is but bloody hell f that price

Clarinet1 · 24/05/2025 17:43

I like this kind of look - very Laurence Llewelyn Bowen - although if I were thinking of buying the house seriously I would want to take a closer look at how well and neatly everything had been done.

Molly499 · 24/05/2025 18:19

I couldn't spend ten minutes in there without running for the door, not exactly a restful vibe. Decor is way too trashy; there are ways of working patterns and textures together but this is not it, makes me want to scream and rip it all out.

StartEngineStop · 24/05/2025 20:55

Pippypippipples · 24/05/2025 07:26

People post their own houses often under something like ‘wow look at this house!’ Etc to try drum up interest. Pretty standard MN fodder

Oh I know, but no idea why this post would be that or why it would matter anyway. It’s hardly a stunning gotcha.

Ribenaberry12 · 24/05/2025 20:58

Love that

AutumnLover1989 · 24/05/2025 20:59

No sorry. That ceiling 😔

Gulliver88 · 24/05/2025 23:31

HoskinsChoice · 24/05/2025 08:16

It's fucking horrible - so tacky! But each to their own, some people clearly love it and the garden is fab.

Good luck selling it OP, great marketing on here for you, I'm surprised it's allowed.

Honestly it's not mine!
I just love looking at houses for sale online

OP posts:
Zov · 24/05/2025 23:43

Not for me sorry @Gulliver88

Did it used to be a shop or something? With the big window at the front, and how kind of open plan it is inside....?

Zov · 24/05/2025 23:45

The water 'burn' running so close would put me right off too (sorry!) As a pp said, it appears to go under the house!

The slightly wild and slightly erratic garden is nice, but it's a no from me.

FloofyKat · 24/05/2025 23:45

Not to my taste at all but each to their own.

soupyspoon · 24/05/2025 23:47

Estate agent has put the floor plan the wrong way round. The kitchen is at the front of the house by the look of it.

Theres lots I like about it. I would change some of the layout personally. I would get ride of the utility room at the back and have it as a wider sitting room and block that off with a stud wall from the dining room. Dont like open plan

Empress13 · 24/05/2025 23:53

Would give me a headache living there
