Inappropriate mnemonic from school?

Son is doing exams Y11 - he has just told me they were taught this mnemonic in science (physics?) when they were in Y9:

'Gay X-men Use Vibrators In My Rectum'

(for remembering types of waves ie gamma, x, uv etc)

Aibu in thinking its inappropriate? He did remember it so he argues it worked!

For context, fee paying school, all boys.....

I remember being uncomfortable at 18 as a female student being taught a VERY inappropriate mnemonic to remember the cranial nerves by a much older male lecturer.

I am shocked and surprised this happened in a high school though.

Not me trying to remember the waves to fit because that seems pretty useful 🤣

Our science teacher let us play a game where we gave ourselves minor electric shocks to answer questions as part of revision 🤣

I remember thinking dd’s teacher was pushing it with KISS keep it simple stupid in 2009.

Just quizzed further - apparently the teacher showed them the list of types of rays on the board on one note.
He said you can remember them how you want.....I remember them like this, scrolled down to show his inappropriate phrase.
The boys were chanting it to each other the next day.

Me too! I am equally appalled and in awe. I might have done better in my physics a level ( all girls grammar = shit male-science teaching) if I had had this level of humour.

Isn't yr11 end of gcse year - so 16 - if so I couldn't get my knickers in a twist... its Pervy but effective and presumably most boys just think about sex all day anyway. If he was 13 I'd be bothered.
