Husband wearing expensive aftershave into office

Kelly997 · 14/05/2025 18:29

He works in a big office for a national company, doesn’t have to dress up wearing a suit or anything - its fairly casual.

AIBU to say wearing Creed Aventus aftershave in every day is a bit OTT?!

He’s trying to impress a female colleague. Better get your ducks in a row.

Only on Mumsnet.

Damit beat me to it 🤣

LlynTegid · 14/05/2025 18:53

Better that than him stink as one colleague of many years ago. Though like @scalt I suspect the motives.

Kelly997 · 14/05/2025 18:32

It’s a going out/posh aftershave isn’t it, just seems a bit ridiculous to inflict that on colleagues 😂

It would never occur to me that 'going out aftershave' was a thing tbh. I buy perfumes I like and I wear them whenever!

legsekeven · 14/05/2025 18:56

Inflict is a strange choice of words! Does he wear too much

NoSoupForU · 14/05/2025 18:58

I would very much like it if all the men in my office decided to wear Creed Aventus because it smells divine.

Why can't your husband just smell nice because he likes to smell nice? What's wrong with you?!

Kbroughton · 14/05/2025 19:02

I have a day perfume and a night perfume. Because my night perfume is quite heavy. But they are both nice and in any case I don't expect my DP to have an opinion on it!

Themightypuma · 14/05/2025 19:14

I wear Creed Adventus to work every day.

User37482 · 14/05/2025 19:20

I wear mine to pop to the shops. Whats the point in having it and not wearing it.

BelfastBard · 14/05/2025 19:22

He can wear whatever aftershave he wants. I wear fairly expensive perfume daily, because it makes me feel good and I like how it smells 🤷🏻‍♀️

shalamakooky · 14/05/2025 19:34

Creed isn’t that posh
its my everyday

let him enjoy it

ChopstickNovice · 14/05/2025 19:37

I used to save my posh perfume, now I use it every day. Life is too short not to.

LaughingCat · 14/05/2025 19:56

Fail to see the issue - I don’t wear perfume (bit overly sensitive to strong smells so I’d be giving your whiffy DH a wide berth in the office lift!), but I wear an expensive Donna Karan deodorant that I pay a premium to import into the country, every single day. Even the days I’m just sat in my scrats, zoned out in front of the Xbox, eating Nik Naks and Revels with no makeup and my greasy hair scraped back.

You’ve got a guy who cares about how he smells…I’ll take that over the one who won’t even shower when he gets home from his manual job, never mind before sex, from that thread yesterday!

Edited to make the visual of me on my worst day, even more unappealing.

EmeraldShamrock000 · 14/05/2025 19:57

Why not? Are you afraid that he will attract some attention?

LaughingCat · 14/05/2025 19:58

Ooohhhh…are you the OP’s husband?! 😅

You sound vvv controlling. Imagine a woman said her DH did not want her wearing her Creed perfume to work lol.
What about Tom Ford is that ok or too expensive 😂

Auroraloves · 14/05/2025 20:02

I love this aftershave. I wear nice perfume to work

nam3c4ang3 · 14/05/2025 20:03

I swear mumsnet gets weirder by the day 😂 I dont even know what the issue is OP - i initially thought perhaps you think hes putting it on to impress some person at work or you suspect an affair? Also, is Creed meant to be posh? i dont even know.

MounjaroMounjaro · 14/05/2025 20:04

I assume you mean he's changing his behaviour, OP. Do you think he's getting too close to someone?

TasWair · 14/05/2025 20:04

I didn't know that perfume goes off! I'm going to douse myself from now on...

SadieAdlerBountyHunter · 14/05/2025 20:06

It's no use to anyone sitting in a bottle at home.

2025willbemytime · 14/05/2025 20:11

I'm going to start wearing my perfume every day now. I never go out so it won't get used if saved for nights out.

Zanatdy · 14/05/2025 20:12

I wear expensive perfume to the office, I go there more than anywhere else and like to smell nice.

Edited

Ooh, I’m intrigued by this deodorant! Why is it good?
