As several pp have already said. The school will send a list! Infact when my DD went to Osmington Bay we were invited to a PowerPoint presentation at school about the trip including what to pack.

You have really had everything you need mentioned already eg for coach a drink, book, card game and talk to friends. For the actual residential they will send a list of items depending on number of days as well as the different types of shoes needed (eg wellies, trainers and indoor shoes).

what should my daughter pack in her suitcase for a residential activity center xx

Has she never been on a residential before? I only ask as my 9 year old has been on at least 8 with Rainbows and Brownies.

Name anything where likely to be similar items, to avoid confusion

She needs to pack, not you, so she knows what was in there and remembers to bring everything back.

As a rough guide, she needs socks, underwear, t shirt and shorts/leggings per day, plus a couple jumpers for evenings. Swimming costume, couple of hats, sunscreen, toiletries, a book. 2 -3 pairs of trainers - 1 for messy, 1 for inside/clean and 1 back up. Waterproofs.

You need to wait for the school to send the info out before you buy anything/ start packing. I'm not sure how you know she's allowed her phone, but don't know anything else about what she should be bringing, or is allowed/ isn't allowed. Kit List would usually be sent out about 3 weeks beforehand, and there'll likely be a parents meeting to answer questions and discuss what to pack. If you're particularly nervous (or your daughter is), or there's a specific reason you need to know earlier, then contact who ever is in charge of the trip and request the kit list be sent to you earlier. Don't just try to guess, as there'll be requirements on stuff like number of pairs of shoes, bedding, number of sets of clothes etc.

FWIW, we're taking Guides away the weekend after that to a large scale camp, and the central camp has only just released the general kit list (literally yesterday), so we've not sent this info to parents yet, as there's some things we need to add/ edit.

Why are you advertising on a large national/international forum exactly where your child will be and the date they'll be there? Madness.

I thought that.

Her own pillowcase. Helps if they are likely to be a bit homesick or things are undamiliar

Wtafdidido · 16/05/2025 20:17

And some easy to pack games like Dobble or a pack of cards

🤔

I don't believe the school is allowing them to take mobile phones on this trip... Who told you they're allowed to take them?

Seems veeeeerryyyy unlikely.
