Little happy things...

Tell me your little happy things. Little gains. Little pockets of joy. So needed now!

Mine:

  • Had an amazing hair cut today - haven't had my hair cut in about six months at least, but this place opened on my doorstep and gave me a 20% discount as a new customer and an extra 10% on top for being a local resident - I have a fringe for the first time in a decade and I love it. Plus a customer walking in said: "Oh I want perm curls like her"... it's not a perm, it's usually candyfloss, but it's all natural! Made me feel amazing.
  • I'm off to Bath on Sunday for an awards ceremony where I am nominated for script writing - definitely won't win, the competition is fierce and I am an amateur but just being part of the whole thing and rubbing shoulders will be fun - first time wearing heels in forever! (Hence new haircut!)

What are your little happy things? PS. If I don't respond for a bit it's because I am headed to Boots to get some hair stuff to keep my new 'do' nice for Sunday!

Reading a magazine today in my garden in the warm sunshine with a cornetto

Bliss, I went for walk on the beach and a bit of a paddle last night with a Magnum and the sea was like bathwater, it was so lovely. And I was listening to the 'You're Dead to Me' podcast, so I was also cackling like a loon!

It's a lovely sunny day, we've been up to the garden centre and bought loads of plants. Just love flowers

That's so lovely, it really puts a spring in your step and a smile on your face doesn't it? We had a music festival in my city last weekend and I was walking to the shop to get some bits when a remixed blast of Insomnia by Faithless rang out across the bay and it instantly transported me back to passing my driving test as it was the first song that came on the radio during my first solo drive - must have been number one in the charts at the time. (Yes I am old!)

It sounds like we're around the same age! Music can be so powerful - when I heard that song (also from the 90s) I felt like I was back to being in my teens for a split second!

I’m on holiday. It’s lovely but I can’t wait to go home on Tuesday and see my (adult) sons and wait for my first grandchild to arrive x

My husband and daughter took me out for dinner. Yeah, I planned it and booked it but it was perfect. 😍

We emigrated nearly 2 years ago and I love my new home. This morning I was in the kitchen, standing in a sunny spot, smiling to myself and thinking "I bloody love living here".

I love happy threads like this. Today’s for me were:

Having a snooze in the sunshine in the garden while my DD napped inside.

A glass of white wine in the sun before dinner

Listening to DD singing heads shoulders knees and toes

Watching the house martins swooping overhead

Not weird at all, that is a milestone - you've done so much work and the fact that you're able to reflect back on things and not to want to return to that space, shows how far you have come. Hope your meal was lovely - I managed to pick up some reduced mozzarella and pesto balls in M&S earlier as well as some reduced cherry tomatoes, so I am REALLY looking forward to having those later with a bit of basil and olive oil. Nom nom nom! Honestly you've done so well, here's to looking forward!

Thank you 😊 - yes, forwards 🥂

Your meal sounds lovely 😍
