To ask if anyone else feels nauseous after eating eggs?

Just that really… Every time I eat scrambled eggs or omelette, I feel sort of travel sick: really queasy (but not an upset stomach) with a slight hangovery headache. It feels a bit like early pregnancy nausea; like I’m not going to be sick but I feel terrible. I was telling my husband before and he looked at me like I was mad, and I’d made us a lovely omelette for lunch (chorizo, peppers, chillies and cheddar) but couldn’t finish it because the nausea had started, and now I feel dreadful! I think I’m past the worst as I’ve started feeling hungry again but does anyone else get this?? What is it?! 🤣

Interesting that people get this after years of eating eggs with no issue - many people are the same with gluten too - hence the number of over 50s busily eating gluten free- GP told me it is very much on the rise amongst over 50s -

@Sunnyout thanks so much, your post is really helpful. I tried re-introducing egg using the egg ladder but not with medical supervision, and I couldn't tolerate it at all.

I will have a look into IgE testing, thank you. I'll also check to see if there is an allergy clinic nearby.

The dizziness and feeling of something being stuck in my throat does worry me a bit, especially when eating out as you can never be 100% sure that things haven't been cross contaminated.

You also need to be careful of vaccinations as they often have egg white.

I’ve never been able to eat plain eggs; it’s something to do with the texture rather than an allergy.

I get exactly this and it just started a fre years ago. It's like travel sickness and brain fog, horrible feeling. And only seems to be with certain ways it's prepared. I remember reading that if you mix the eggs it releases an enzyme which some ppl can be intolerant of as I can also tolerate poached eggs.

I'm generally ok with eggs but I cannot them cooked with cheese. A cheese omelette will make me nauseous for hours. I'm ok with cheese on its own.

Had terrible heartburn and indigestion from boiled eggs the other day. Lasted a couple of days. Was actually worried that it wasn’t indigestion, but something more serious.

I do if I eat more than 2. I also can't eat mashed potato as it gives me the same feeling!
