Greta Thunberg - why would she be regarded badly?

StrawberryDream24 · 02/05/2025 09:49

I've just met someone who was extremely scathing of a woman dressing as Greta Thunberg for an "inspirational women" dress up type thing.

She didn't elaborate, other than that it was ridiculous for someone to have done that and she had to hold her tongue in telling them so (and the circumstances allowed for no further discussion for me to find out why she felt that way).

I don't know a great deal about GT but what is this lady on about? Has anyone any idea? Is there something I'm missing?

I must be thick.

You have a bizarre way of localising and minimising things that people refer to, when it's obvious their context is not local or personal;

"The UK"

She wasn't referring to the UK, it was obvious.

"I don't recall my kids . ...".

There are a few billion kids, other than yours.

Marie Curie of course!

I bet that's a name lots of young folk will recognise and not be sure why.

Because she's a massive hypocrite. Same reason I won't be lectured about climate change by David Attenborough or Chris Packham. One has spent the last 60 years flying around the World with a film crew. Last time I saw the other one, he was flying over the savanna in a helicopter looking at flamingos. Bell end.

Buy she doesn't usually fly - precisely to not be a hypocrite.

Florence Nightingale, Mother Teresa, Marie Curie, Serena Williams, Malala Youdafzhai.

Yeah I was thinking about Malala

In any case I think it was a big group, so they were probably struggling.

I come and go with her. I think her parents have been highly negligent. She’s also turned into a useful mouthpiece for whatever the latest “progressive” issue du jour is. She sees the world in very black and white terms.

But she’s highlighted the issues to a new audience.

Florence Nightingale, Mother Teresa, Marie Curie, Serena Williams, Malala Youdafzhai.

Of those named

I've seen similar said about Malala as Greta.

I've seen Mother Theresa called evil. People really didn't like her views.

Serena Williams- shit, and not as good as men. Not to mention dared to have muscles and therefore not 'feminine enough '

Pankhurst was racist, violent, white feather movement.

You'll never find a female activist who is clean and pure and perfect enough to not be abused.

Jabberwok · 02/05/2025 11:15

Because it's easy to shout "how dare you" rather than say " why don't you"

She moans and complains and paints a false narrative that "older" people have created the problems. She offers no solutions, travels thousands of miles per year (all travel impacts the climate unless wind or solar or animal driven).

She has not come up with some idea to combat climate change, you would have thought she would have brought together a large number of scientists, raised the funds and set them to work....her profile should have been enough to get the greatest climate brains together.

I did get drawn in to the clapping. Not so much the doddery old rich fella.

Ha ha. I’m not judging anyone for that! I’m someone that doesn’t do well with praise generally so celebrating people doing their job was puzzling. Appreciate that job was suddenly quite dangerous.

True. Same goes for men.
The women I mentioned have actually achieved something though, unlike GT.

StrawberryDream24 · 02/05/2025 11:16

I think it's probably the Hammas incident.

Thanks for posting everyone, appreciate it.

And you have a bizarre way of taking things personally and then going on the attack at poster's that don't agree with you.

Still, when there's nothing else to muster, it's the best form of defense.

Good luck to you.

I'm going out to water my potatoes and carrots if that's okay? Sure?
Good. Thank you.

All the best.

Our fossil fuel industries are far from thriving.

Which working colliery did you last see? Which thriving towns around them full of employment did you last visit?

Pretty sure that ExxonMobil, Shell, Texaco and BP are doing just fine.

Whammyyammy · 02/05/2025 11:16

Because she is a puppet actor, nothing more.

She also has quite a large carbon footprint, huge hypocrite.

People didn't like her well before she tweeted about Palestine.

I was only really doing it to wave to my neighbours if I'm honest.
I didn't get my pots out!

Righty ho, enjoy the debate all.

Ah, I didn't see that.

mindutopia · 02/05/2025 11:28

Russian propaganda that all the right wing lemmings have devoured like sweets.

I meant, it's probably why the lady I've referred to in my op disapproves of her.

Also, sorry - I think I've mispelled Hammas, itl seems to be Hamas?

Here is the image in question.

I've just looked it up.

It's not a Hamas sign.

I see another digitally altered image of her wearing a Hamas headband has been exposed.

But is she making pro Hamas statements (even if implicitly)?

Well she's publicly spanked Andrew Tate:s arse twice - which I consider an achievement lol.

Not in the same league, I understand though.

You couldn't trigger me if you tried.

It's clear you have been trying and sadly you are still banging on, getting personal.
It's sad really.

Nevermind.

I've watered my veg. I'm going to go to the toilet now.
I feel it necessary to write this to give to give you something to post about.

Then it'll be a lay down in the garden. Watching the busy bees on my as yet unidentified weeds.

I might have some lunch after that.

I'll be sure to keep you in post fodder in case it gets too much. You'll be okay 😉

Re: 'sees the world in black & white terms' - that is probably down to her Autism? I have a teen DD who looks very like GT. She gets some grief, mostly from middle aged men, when she doesn't smile & do 'pretty compliant girl' stuff at them. Imo GT gets a lot more grief than an identical NT girl would and a whole world more than a lad would.

She's off again!

You couldn't make this shit up.

You take care and relax now. All this angst can't be good for you.

Later Gator ❤️
