Ironically?

As a frumpy middle aged mum?

(I would link for those not familiar, but don’t particularly want to promote the kind of publications writing about it).

How is anyone going to know that you are wearing it ironically rather than being a handmaiden?

Yes, how?

SomeDanceToForget · 01/05/2025 14:55

People won’t realise it’s ironic and will think that you actually believe in that nonsense.

RoadtoVima · 01/05/2025 14:56

Irony is nuanced and needs context. Wearing a protect the dolls tee won't provide that. YABU

PedigreeSort · 01/05/2025 14:56

Wthell? If i saw you wearing that I'd think you had drunk the coolaid... absolutely not, and Don't share a link

Don't give them any clicks

DefinitelyNotMaybe · 01/05/2025 14:57

Yeah go for it, I can't think of anything more devastatingly witty.

EasterIs · 01/05/2025 14:57

Well if someone like me wore one, it would clearly be ironic, trust me 😂

OP posts:
IReallyLoveItHere · 01/05/2025 14:58

I would love to advertise it. It's gone very wrong, a hash tag with a nightmare of dolls 😂

AccidentallyWesAnderson · 01/05/2025 15:00

Only if you had one with the words - (even though they’re already protected) underneath or something.

EasterIs · 01/05/2025 15:00

I’d Daniella Westbrook it

OP posts:
Itiswhysofew · 01/05/2025 15:00

How would you wear it?

Oddsocksanduglyshoes · 01/05/2025 15:01

To be honest I think a lot of people would have no idea what it means

TheWisePlumDuck · 01/05/2025 15:03

Can you get one and then write on it '/s' ?

KimberleyClark · 01/05/2025 15:05

This. It would be lost on me.

Genuinely don't understand what you mean here - why would the irony be clear? Would you be wearing your GC hat at the same time or something?

Monster6 · 01/05/2025 15:11

Irony wouldn’t be clear, no matter how you think you’re presenting. I’ve seen a few of these in the wild now. Mainly on Gen Zs/younger millennial women.

Whatwouldnanado · 01/05/2025 15:14

Sorry what does it mean please?

RipleyJones · 01/05/2025 15:16

Nah. Just wear a woman : adult human female, we won! T shirt.

WallaceinAnderland · 01/05/2025 15:20

#protectthedolls is doing it's own irony

To wear a ‘Protect The Dolls’ t-shirt
MsFogi · 01/05/2025 15:22

Only if you add a load of dinosaur and ILoveJKR badges to it!

I know plenty of 'frumpy middle-aged mums' as you so charmingly put it who absolutely support the campaign. So no, it wouldn't clearly be ironic.

Grow up.
