Smart watch

Are there just another gimmick or do they offer more than just surfing and making a phone call from you're watch. The problem with a smartphone is it the screen is very tiny and it would be a strain on the eyes and as for checking things like health benefits you can do that from a mobile phone so why do you need a Smartphone

yes, thank you, ChatGPT

smartwatches can contribute to health anxiety for some individuals. The constant flow of data, especially for those with pre-existing health conditions or anxieties, can lead to increased stress and worry. The ability to continuously monitor health metrics, like heart rate or sleep, can inadvertently trigger a cycle of over-checking and concern, potentially leading to unhealthy habits or increased stress.

I'm not but I thought I would post this because somebody on here when I said it could make you anxious dismissed it and I wanted people on her to realize it's not just me who thinks like this

You literally are. I’m sure a lot of people think smart watches make people anxious, but that doesn’t mean they’re right. Posting a random answer from ChatGPT proves nothing.

I do have an Apple Watch but I wouldn’t bother with a smart watch again.

BashfulClam · 08/05/2025 10:21

It can be set up exactly as you want it to be. My husband has started running and it’s better than his phone for tracking his run and heart rate etc.

I have an irregular heartbeat so it tells me if my heart rate has changed and also I have ADHD and lose my phone all the time. I can walk from the kitchen to
living room and my phone is gone. The button to find my phone is welcome.

@PerkyOchrePeer you seem to have spectacularly missed the point of starting a mn thread as well as of smart watches. It’s so that people will talk to you about the subject you chose to start it on.

in the same way you are not obliged to buy a smart watch, you’re not obliged to start a mn thread about them either.

Never heard such nonsense. The only person I would Trust to check my heart rate is my GP and that's after they have sent me to get the proper tests at a hospital not some device on a watch How ludicrous if that's what you want to believe then go right ahead and as far as I'm concerned smart watches early for gullible fools who want to pay silly money to believe a silly machine I'm out of here now goodbye

Is it only replying to people who've quoted it?

I have had my heart checked at a hospital by a cardiologist. I’m not being monitored every day hooked up to a machine and they actually suggested tracking my heart with a smart watch etc to see when it goes up and establish a pattern.
