What designer brand hoodies do 11 year old boys wear?

Okay, I already know I AIBU to post here but need the traffic to get an answer quickly, so hands up on that one!

It's my DSs 11th birthday at the end of this month. He absolutely loves hoodies and I'd like to get him a really nice one that would give him some Street cred (I can almost see him flinching in embarrassment when I write that 🤣😂). I have no idea about brands and neither does he really, so we both need a steer.

Please fellow wise mumsnetters, steer me in the right direction 🙏

Represent & Broken Planet are the 'top tier' brands that my 16 year old likes and has received hoodies for Xmas etc

Then you have the more day-to-day brands that are still trendy; Nike, North Face, Adidas. My son wears those kind of hoodies to school/college

Third-tier: my son regularly shops at Zara and has several of their tracksuits and really likes them. They wash well too.

GetDownkeith · 14/04/2025 08:54

I think it depends. DS2 is 14 and wouldn’t wear a North Face Hoodie neither would his friends but loads of boys in his school wear them. They wear Nike and adidas or non branded like Zara and H&M.

Ohdearwhatnow4 · 14/04/2025 08:56

Mine wouldn't wear Adidas as it's going out round here, Nike is popular every day wear. The more confident kids wear the logos big, the more reserve kids wear black with the logo.

Onetwothreefourfivealive · 14/04/2025 08:58

I see a lot of Fat Willys surf shack hoddies around at the moment

Favouritefruits · 14/04/2025 09:00

Air Jordan hoodies are popular for that age as are the usual Nike/adidas

WonderingWanda · 14/04/2025 09:01

For an 11 year old I would play it safe and go for Nike.

TheCurious0range · 14/04/2025 09:04

It will be area dependent, the only boys who wear north face around here are wannabe roadmen. What do you see on teenage boys in your local town?

pinotnow · 14/04/2025 09:05

Different brands have different associations and I think that will vary by area. You need to ask him - if he cares. If not, it will be waste of money anyway. Neither of my dc have been interested in labels but they don't want to wear stuff that sends out a message they don't buy into.

And lol at the idea that 'confident' kids wear their logos big.

To be honest I haven't really been looking at them that closely. They might get the wrong idea 🤣😂

Thanks everyone for the suggestions, keep them coming!!

Broken Planet looks good, I would have worn that stuff at that age 😁 Sizing might be an issue.

Hoodrich and under armour also worn round hear. The lads also wear shorts, long designer socks and crocs or trainers if want to look smarter

EachandEveryone · 14/04/2025 09:18

My nephew that age wears anything related to his football team

Inthetyreshop · 14/04/2025 12:33

Essentials

He's not keen on football so wouldn't want a football hoodie tbh.

He's more of a surfer/climbing/outdoors kid. We live by the sea so he's in his element.

Stussy is the brand of choice where we are - if you can get hold of one. Took me weeks to get the basic white tee for DS at Christmas.

Comefromaway · 14/04/2025 14:36

It really depends.

My daughter is older but she really likes Represent. Stussy, Fear of God, Nike, Hoodrich, Weekend Offender, CP Company & Stone Island (the latter three are worn by football fans) are commonly seen.

Ronsealit · 14/04/2025 14:41

I work with teenagers and would say Fear of God (labels say Represent / Essentials usually) Stussy, Off White and Nike here. Still hoodies with shorts and long, pulled up socks All of their clothes seem to be either black or white with maybe a flamboyant dash of grey lately and they all have the same haircut. This probably means I’m getting old. Grin

Mrsgus · 14/04/2025 14:41

Nike or Northface mainly. I did buy my boy a Hoodrich set for Christmas and he was like " mum that's what the dealers wear who go around on the electric scooters" He then showed me that they have these hidden little pockets!!

Pertinentowl · 14/04/2025 14:42

Bathing ape, fear of god, supreme or off white

Harry12345 · 14/04/2025 14:44

Montirex, represent, billionaire boys club and broken planet

Comedycook · 14/04/2025 14:44

Tween/teen boy fashion is often quite area dependent.....Nike is a safe choice

givemushypeasachance · 14/04/2025 14:47

If he's into climbing and outdoorsy things then might he not prefer an outdoorsy kind of brand rather than the mainstream sports brands? You could either look at what the people at the local climbing centres wear, or check out their instagram accounts and scope brands on there. Or consider the respected higher end outdoors/active brands like Patagonia.

Linsco · 14/04/2025 14:49

Teenage boys are mostly wearing Nike or Montirex where I am.

Fear of God Essentials & Represent are separate brands, one considerably cheaper than the other.

I forgot Off White & Palm Angels but I think the latter doesn't sound like it would appeal to OP's son. My daughter likes them mind.

lessglittermoremud · 14/04/2025 14:50

My non footballing son wears h&m hoodies as well as their denim joggers, t-shirts etc He doesn’t really care about trends/brands or if he’s the odd one out, prefers graffiti style patterns and anime etc which h and m seem to do fairly often.
My footballing son will only wear sports gear, adidas/nike
