Disneyland Paris

I booked an apartment in Paris for October a while ago with a view to taking kids 12 14 and 3 to Disney. Just looking at tickets and for a two day ticket(just before half term but Fri and sat) it’s £810 for kids and two adults, added fast track just to see and that brings it up to £1550…!? Bit shocked. If you’ve been recently what did you think of it?

We went last month and absolutely loved it - didn't do fast track though

IsItSnowing · 01/04/2025 13:16

We've been twice and had a great time. Would definitely go back. I'd never pay for fast pass. It's expensive and only valid for one time per ride anyway. We went out of season and queued.
My advice, get there early in the morning when crowds are lower and stay later at night if you can. People get tired and drift home and queues reduce. Take a break midday from ride queuing - go to the shops, visit the Disney village or go back to your apartment for a break if it's close enough.
Don't eat lunch at 'lunchtime' as everyone else will be in the park restaurants then too. They let you take a packed lunch in or eat at the village restaurants instead.

Elunajeya · 01/04/2025 13:19

You can do pay as you go fast pass for individual rides once you are in, if you need to. Don’t pay in advance.

It’s expensive for a day, the prices aren’t pro-rated when you buy a 4-day pass etc.

It’s worth it though - go and enjoy.

onwardsup4 · 01/04/2025 13:24

Thank you, right so no fast pass that’s a relief ha. Was a bit concerned about the will be 3 year old and the queuing and myself tbh!

We went in February and it was £685 for 2 adults, 13 and 10 year old, 2 days plus one night in a Disney hotel. 2 day tickets without the hotel were almost the same price!
We stayed in an apartment Paris for 3 nights then had a night at Disneyland- could you do that if you can amend your apartment booking? Would probably save you money overall. You also get an extra hour in the parks per day (8.30-9.30am) if you stay at a Disney hotel.
The DC really enjoyed the park so we felt it was worth it! We didn’t bother with fast track and didn’t feel we needed it, we used the single rider option on a couple of rides to skip the longest queues, and you can also pay for one off skip the queue on an individual ride on the Disneyland app if you wanted to, around €5 per person per ride (we didn’t bother but the option is there).
We went on everything we wanted to in 2 days, didn’t bother with any shows or meet & greet because the DC weren’t bothered about that.

onwardsup4 · 01/04/2025 14:05

I think the apartment is 3 night min stay which is what we’re doing with the third day hoping to visit Eiffel Tower etc. apartment is apparently a pleasant 15 minute walk to the park which is what I liked about it. Prices of the actual park were a bit of a shock but guess you don’t do it every day do you. If it’s going to be worth it then it’s all good, positive reply’s so far!

Yes agree with others that the most expensive way to go is to buy 1 or 2 day tickets outside of packages. If you don't have fast passes and are going at a weekend I would suggest having a robust plan in place for rides - arrive early, prioritise the ones that are must-dos and don't eat at the same time as everyone else.

Iknowaboutpopular · 01/04/2025 14:10

Are you sourcing tickets through Disney itself? Have a look at attractiontickets.com
I'd be surprised if you can't find them cheaper there.

TheJollyMoose · 01/04/2025 14:10

When you’re getting into the ££££ I have no idea why you would waste the money on a trip to DLP when you could go to WDW for two weeks for just a tiny bit more.

DLP is a 2 day event. There isn’t much there and the atmosphere and magic is just not on the same scale as WDW.

Iknowaboutpopular · 01/04/2025 14:10

And i wouldn't bother with fast pass either

I agree in principle but it's quite a jump from £1000 for 2 days to a WDW trip for 4 which would realistically be a minimum of £6000 with flights, tickets and hotel...

No, you could do it for under £3k easily, including all of that and staying on WDW property.

Disney tickets alone for 4 are almost £2k and flights are a minimum of £500pp indirect off season and £850pp peak direct?

You don’t need to do everything seperately. Actually it quite often works out dearer that way.

Just pick the right time of year, do it with the WDW Travel Conpany and it is easily under £3k all in.

If you do proper research, rather than a quick google, it isn’t as expensive as people think it is.

I’ve been frequently, including now we are a family of four, and it has never cost me anywhere near £6k.

Agree 100%. But it’s not as far away, that is the only thing. I would sadly not call it Disney Magic though, it wasn’t very magical compared to Florida. Which sucks, because I don’t really want to go to America anymore.

Redandyellowqueen · 01/04/2025 14:48

Not sure if you have a cancellable booking but have you checked the price for a package with tickets staying at a Disney hotel? It might actually work out cheaper.

I've also been many times staying on site in the holidays booked with WDTC and £6k is the absolute minimum these days, especially once children turn 10. I'd be really interested in a trip costing £3k since about 2018!

80smonster · 01/04/2025 15:05

They switch fast pass off whenever they like. The French are terrible queue pushers - is my major memory of the park. I found the staff quite sullen and at times unhelpful. Don’t even get me started on the food…

Or the smoking. 🤢

I could have put up with the fugs of smoke, but the slapped arse faces and mile long queues got boring faster than you’d think they would. Also the feral cry of the under 6s, I can still hear the howling if I close my eyes.

I go every year, and as a family of four for the last four years.

We always stay on site and it is always under 3k 🤷‍♀️

Ibis budget hotel at Val D'Europe is super cheap. One stop on red RER train to DLP takes about 10 mins

A tiny bit more??? Sorry we’ve just booked WDW and it’s costing us the best part of £10,000 for 2 weeks. It’s definitely not ‘a tiny bit more’

HarryVanderspeigle · 01/04/2025 15:24

We stayed onsite, was about £1500 for 3 nights with 4 days park tickets, including breakfast. That was a couple of years ago. Queues were the shortest after 5pm, so worth staying later. Can you do 3 nights in Paris and an extra one at a Disney hotel at the end? We had a great time and the kids still ask to go back.

Would love to go to the florida one at some point, but it is so big I find it all overwhelming to contemplate.

onwardsup4 · 01/04/2025 15:24

i did look at a Disney hotel package it worked out slightly more than separate apartment but I wanted to go for the apartment as we’ll be more comfortable with own bedrooms and more space.
My sister actually said the same as a few of you to pay a bit more and go to Disney land but it’s a fair bit more and we’re just looking at a quick trip in October for now
